Destiny of Light (2)

Layla stated, "Alright, I want to know who you are and now."

Luna released her force field, fairly confident that the paladin was dead.

The Paladin was indeed dead, and Kreig got up, blood dripping from his mouth

Luna focused her attention back to the woman in black. "It's about time we get some answers."

Jargos gave the woman incentive by digging his claws in ever so slightly, but she didn't budge

Layla jumped off of the woman and pulled the chain from her hands. The shadows had formed a solid chain and collar for now. She would focus on removing it later. "Tell us your name or I'll use my magic against you. You're defenseless and there's no other place to run."

"Do you worst, you dog!"


Jargos held himself back

Layla growled. She bit into the woman's shoulder in anger, making sure not to go deep enough to kill her. "You tried to kill me once. I won't give you the pleasure of it a second time. If your hope is to die, then you won't get it."

"Morgana" The woman said, then faded into dust, blowing away to escape, the Paladin, somehow doing the same



Jargos was furious


Kreig was confused

Layla was enraged that she was only one step from finally ridding the world of the woman. She wanted answers. No, she demanded answers. It wasn't a question, rather a statement. "In the name of Gaea, get back here!"

Luna could only rub her forehead. "Great. So, we have a paladin that's a zombie and a woman now on the run. What's next? Us magically going to a dungeon?"

Jargos leveled the large double doors in anger as Kreig popped his neck in frusteration

"With the paladin out of the way, let us see what the queen is up to. It's about time we also gain answers from her as well," Luna stated.

"She isn't here" Jargos said in anger "She left with Morgana"


Kreig was puzzled

"What?" Layla asked in question. "Why would she do such a thing?" Even Luna was puzzled.

Kreig moved the bed curtain back and realized

"Luna, Layla, Morgana IS the queen, that's what he meant"

Layla facepalmed. "Why didn't I put that together? I feel so idiotic!"

Luna replied, "I had a feeling it was coming. All we can really do is leave before any of the guards realize she's gone. They'll think we had something to do with it and seize us."

Jargos roared out and then got ready to leave

Kreig shook his head and got ready to leave

Layla's attempt to turn back into an elf failed. Luna asked, "Why can't you transform?"

Layla replied, "I don't know, but it's not something we need to be concerned about. I hear footsteps. Let's move!" The footsteps drew close and Layla instructed Luna to head out first.

Jargos lead the way, rampaging through the castle to the outer gates

Kreig was about to lose it, but he kept himself in check

Layla kept looking behind, knowing they were being chased. "Jargos, set course for the Darkwoods. It's our safest bet, and I highly doubt the guards would dare chase us that far."

Jargos dashed at speed to Darkwoods

Kreig followed, but stayed behind the women, guarding the rear

Layla glanced back beyond Kreig, though silently thanked him for watching over them.

The guards were dropping back a bit, in which Luna sighed in relief

Jargos slowed a bit as he caught a scent heading to the mountains. It was unfamiliar to him


Kreig caught it as well, but didn't slow

Layla picked up the scent and, by instinct, she nearly chased it. She thought it was in direction for Zeiza. As much as she wanted to go, she knew she wouldn't make it in a days time if she wanted to. The two continued on behind Jargos with Kreig just behind them.

Jargos made it to Darkwoods, slightly out of breath, but mostly just angry with himself


Kreig caught the scent as well, but fought instinct to chase it

Layla dropped back to meet Luna. She whispered quietly, "I fear danger may be making its way to Zeiza. Are you sure that there were no shadows attacking the village before I returned?"
