Destiny of Light (2)

Luna growled. She said a spell under her breath that summoned storm clouds over the village. A redish shade fell over the ground beneath her as she called both hers and Layla's ancestor of magic for aid.

"Light and Dark
Sun and Moon.
He**ish Skies
Summons Doom.

Ancient Powers
Come to Me.
Loss, Blood, Destruction,
Will End with Thee."

The spell came out in an Elven Language, that which she didn't know. As if from a past life of some sort, she knew it.

As soon as the crack of thunder hit the sky, Layla knew that Luna was in severe danger.

Kreig passed out an Morgana used his energy to form a shield as she sent her own to manipulate him


Jargos nodded
"Should we go after them?"

A white mist developed around Luna as magic poured into her body. "Die," she said quietly. With the twist of her hand, she shot down lightning to hit the field. A ring of fire surrounded them all and engulfed all that was in its path.

Layla went off in a split run. "Luna's going to kill herself. We must hurry!"

Kreig was having a lucid dream, but it was more like an out of body experience. He was watching the fight. He tried to call out to Luna




Jargos darted after her

Layla quickly summoned another portal in panic and motioned for Jargos to follow close behind. Crossing through, she saw that the village Zeiza was in absolute ruins and it brought silent tears to her eyes.

"Not Zeiza... They were not prepared...!" She made her way into the village on all fours and jolted off to Morgana. "I have had it with you! Do your worst, Morgana!"

Kreig's body was now under Morgana's control, and she flung him toward Luna to attack, but just before his claws could strike, his body froze. Morgana tried to force Krieg to attack, but something was stopping him. Kreig's energy started draining from Morgana, and directly into Luna. She could hear Krieg whisper all around her

"Calm down . . . You will defeat her . . ."


Jargos roared and charged after Layla

As she heard Kreig's voice, Luna felt tears run down her face. "History will not repeat itself. I won't let it."

When Luna came in Layla's sight, she instantly stopped beside her and put her hands on Luna's shoulders.

"Listen, Luna, calm down. You need to calm down or this overflow is going to ultimately hurt you. Okay? Can you understand me?"

Luna nodded. "Zeiza is lost, Grandmother."

"It is not lost until we both are dead. You carry the bloodline of our people like I do. Zeiza will not perish until the day that both of us are defeated."

Kreig's massive energy flowed into Luna, empowering her with his wild strength. His body was still frozen in place, held by his dominating willpower.

Jargos ignited and fully shifted and a dome of fire formed around the village, which would now be the battleground

Layla turned to face Morgana. "I've had enough of you. You tried to destroy Garlan, you murdered the people of my village, and you attempted to claim the Darkwoods. These three lands are the hearts of the people. You can kill one, but you can't kill them all. Face it, Morgana. You've lost. Give up now and we won't have to go to extreme measures. You're outmatched, outnumbered, and surely surpassed in age by most of us here. It doesn't have to be this way. All you have to do is give the word and we can end the war here."

Morgana burst into laughter

"Petulant children!! I've lived countless ages!!! Your power is no match for mine!!! One by one, you shall fall!!!! Already the mutt is frozen with fear, unable to move an inch!!! And you threaten me!?!! I Am All Powerful!! I Will Neve-AAGGGHHH!!!!!"

Jargos roared and rushed her, tackling her with all his might and pinning her

Luna immediately ran to Kreig to get him under medical care. Layla could only walk toward Morgana. Her sadness of Zeiza fought at odds with her anger toward Morgana.

"You are strong in your magic, Morgana. You can kill the physical bodies of the people, but you cannot kill our hearts and soul. You've lost." She turned away. "Name what you want to do, Jargos. It's your choice this time."

Kreig's voice rang in Luna's mind

"Don't worry about me, attack her!"


Jargos had his claws at the ready, his blood boiled and he held his arm up for the act

Luna wanted to resist what she recognized as Kreig's voice but couldn't. "I'll be back," she whispered. Luna ran back to Layla's side. Layla could not bring herself to face Luna and instead walked away to perform a spell.

"You and Jargos finish this. I can't do it. Not this time," Layla said. She chose a spot in the burnt grass and started speaking a spell. Clouds formed in the sky. Thunder and lightning spawned in the sky above.

Morgana screamed as Jargos readied himself

Luna did not speak to Layla as she walked away. "I just want one answer from you. Why did you attack Zeiza? Why did you kill all of these people? You are the last villain we have to bother with. There was bound to be a reason. I have a feeling that you knew if you came here that you'd be in this position. I want answers."

"FOOLS!!! I AM A GODDESS!!! I CANNOT LOSE!!!! ALL MY PLANS!!!" She wailed

Layla's spell formed dark clouds that brought rain to the ground. Blazing fires started to go down in the village and the smells of burning bodies began to fade with the wind.

Luna grew angry. She formed fire in her hand that would not burn out by Layla's spell. "Morgana, I'm not afraid to hurt you. I just want an answer. Simple as that. Yelling and struggling will get you nowhere at all."

"Some people cannot be bullied or reasoned with, they cannot be persuaded. Some people just want to watch the world burn" Krieg's voice echoed in Luna's thoughts


Jargos snarled and Morgana screamed again

Luna sighed. "She's yours to take care of, Jargos."

Jargos crushed Morgana's skull, setting her ablaze
He backed off and extinguished himself, then reverted to his more human form


Krieg collapsed, all of his energy still in Luna

Luna finally went back to tend to Kreig and give him back what was rightfully his.

Layla pulled herself back from the spell and allowed the rain to fall on its own. "It's over. It's finally, and completely, over."

Jargos walked over and embraced Layla, holding her tightly


Kreig began to wake up

Silent tears streamed down Layla's and Luna's faces, but Luna forced a smile to help Kreig. "Welcome back," she said. "I'm sorry for losing it. I just... I don't know. I just couldn't handle it."

"I'm so very sorry . . . Layla, please forgive me . . ." Jargos voice shook. He felt as if he had failed her in some way, but there was no other way to end all of this. He held her close to him


Kreig slowly got himself to a sitting position and looked around, unsure of what had just happened. He saw Luna crying and smiling, but something seemed wrong

It wasn't Jargos' actions that hurt her, nor the death of Morgana. "They're all dead, Jargos..." She buries her head in his shoulder, thin tears falling from her face.

Lunalia walks over to Kreig, trying to hold strength for reassurance. However, despite that, she felt terrible. Not only had her one true home been destroyed, but Layla's as well. She joins beside Kreig and whispers to him, "It hurts me to see Zeiza this way, but it hurts me to see her so pained even more."
