"So, now here's our problem. It's not a coincidence that Her Highness has fallen ill. I believe that. Seeing as both Luna and I are medics to some degree, we could probably pass through and see her. But, that's putting us at risk if in some chance something goes wrong and we're seized."

Jargos and Kreig nodded

Layla looked to Luna. "So, here's the question. We'll be staying in the castle this time, but now we need to know if Luna and I should try to make entry. If the queen is actually ill, then there's a chance they'll let us in."

"Or if they think she's ill" Kreig said

Layla nodded. "And that's a good point as well to add. So, what do you guys think?"

"We should give it a shot" Jargos said

Layla and Luna nodded to one another. "Alright, then it's settled. We'll try to get information from the queen, or her maids at the least. In the meantime, you guys should probably talk to the guards and see where that conversation heads to. They can't arrest you unless you try to attack them, and asking never hurts anyone."

Jargos and Kreig nodded

"So, shall we split up?" Luna asked. Layla nodded. "If anything happens, we should probably have some sort of thought of where to meet. If something goes wrong, meet back in the throne room."

Jargos and Kreig nodded

Layla and Luna bid goodbyes for now and made their way to the chamber doors of the queen. It was about time they got answers, and they both hoped they would get some at last.

Jargos and Kreig readied themselves for the worst, neither thought she was ill

Kreig debated whether or not to shift now or later

As Layla prepared to knock on the door, a woman walked up to them and said, "Who are you? The queen is very ill as we speak and I do not believe she would want visitors at the moment."

"My name is Layliana and this is Lunalia. Both of us are medics from our home village."

Jargos looked around and headed out into the hallway

"I'm telling you, I don't think she wants visitors."

"And I'm telling you that we're medics and we might can help. I won't make any promises and I won't ask for any payment at all."

"If you truly believe you might can help Her Highness, then go in. But try to be courteous. If she asks for anything, be polite and be respectful. You may not be from around here, but she is the highest royalty in these parts."

"Of course. Lunalia, let us enter." Luna nodded.

Kreig could smell something wrong in the area and he headed into the hallway as well



A tall Paladin in full armor and a flowing black cape was in the Queen's chambers facing the doors. The bed curtains were drawn so nothing could be seen

Layla held her arm out to keep Luna behind her. "Sir, if the queen feels well enough, my relative and I would like to offer aid. Both of us are skilled in the field of medicine, and we feel as if we could help. With the permission of both you and Her Highness, may we be allowed to pass?" Luna noticed Layla's attempt to maintain a proper posture in the sight of royalty. She was trying to keep up to the utmost courtesy to avoid trouble and to pay respect.

"My apologies, but the queen is resting, I need to ask you to leave"

For one brief moment, Layla sensed sudden danger. She spoke words in the tongue of the Elven, enough for Luna to understand. "Something is off. We need to find Jargos and Kreig."

The Paladin placed his hand on his sword, ready to draw it

"I do not wish to ask twice, please leave"



Jargos and Kreig roared in unison, both sensing immense danger

Layla didn't like what she was sensing and told Luna to meet her back in the throne room with the others. They departed. When Luna asked Layla as to why they retreated from the room, she only responded, "Now isn't the time for that."

Jargos and Kreig were on the hunt, Kreig in the lead

The two made it to the throne room quickly. They waited patiently for Jargos and Kreig.

Kreig was hot on the trail of something dark

Layla waited in silence as Luna kept asking her why they retreated.

"Will you tell me already?"

"Something is going on around here that I don't like, and I have a feeling that this was what Jargos was concerned about earlier."
