Destiny of Light

Layla saw Jargos walk off. "Kreig, Luna, you two have a crack at him. I'm going to talk to Jargos."

Kreig nodded



Jargos was breathing heavily, fighting off a change

"How could I have been so stupid" He scolded himself under his breath "Of course he had heirs, he was no fool"

Layla walked up to Jargos. "Listen," she said. "There wasn't anything we could've done to prevent this back then, and all we can do is work at what we have now. We've got him contained. That's great. But, we need answers out of him."

Luna started thinking a bit. Mortifer merely gave a dark glare to the two of them.

"I failed us again. I was blinded by hope that we had ended this all. I'm sorry. Let's get answers after those two"


Kreig decked the man for daring glare at Luna

Luna suddenly saw a flash of red in Mortifer's eyes. She looked to Kreig. "Something's wrong. Did you see that?"

Kreig nodded

Mortifer started struggling at the chains again as a red aura started surrounding him. Layla could feel a chill come over her, sensing him trying to break the only thing holding him. The bindings were cracking. Luna took a step back. "One of us needs to get Layla and Jargos here."

Kreig shifted and began to pound the living daylights out of Mortifer, trying to buy Luna some time

Luna ran to get Layla and Jargos, though Layla was already in almost a full run. "He's trying to break loose. Come on!"

"I knew I felt something. I could sense him trying to break through."

Layla went as quick as she could as her marks glowed deeper than they did before. She stood in a firm stance and held her hands out to get the rocks to hold in place. "Kreig, you're only fueling his powers. I'm doing all I can to hold him in place." A white aura appeared around the rocks as Mortifer's power grew stronger. He was putting strain on her powers to see if Layla would let any point of weakness show.

"Allow us!" Jargos and Kreig said in unison and they each grabbed an arm, pinning him to the wall, their claws acting like nails in the rock wall


With Jargos and Kreig fully shifted, Mortifier was secure, but he was pulling out massive power

Layla released her magic on him, seeing as the two had him in place. Layla walked up to the Mortifer. She could sense heavy amounts of magic gathering within him. Chills ran up her spine as black figures started to appear on the floor. "Oh, sh**!" Layla put herself between Luna and the creatures. "This is not going like I hoped it would."

Kreig and Jargos growled and snarled, unsure of what to do

Layla was questioning the Pros and Cons at the moment. She needed time to think, but she really didn't have that much. With the creatures spawning in the cave, she knew it was crucial that Luna get away from both Mortifer and his demons. Using her magic, Layla was able to get the door open in the cave. "Jargos, get both Kreig and Luna out of here. We don't have that much time."

In a flash, Jargos got all three of his companions and made the four vanish in a burst of super human speed. Jargos was dashing away, a blur to all that could see him

Layla heard an explosion echo in the distance. "This is not good. This is not good at all." Luna stated.

Kreig nodded to them as Jargos speed off into Darkwoods

Layla didn't dare glance over her shoulder in fear of what she'd see. "I should've tried to hold him off longer. It was ultimately stupid of me to put him in shackles of stone. I should've used stronger magic against him.

Jargos did not stop once the were in Darkwoods, he took them into the deepest heart of the woods, where the trees were so thick and ancient, it was like walking into a different world

As they entered the heart of the Darkwoods, Layla felt a bit safer. "It's almost like... Like something is telling me to use the Runes again. It's been bloody ages since I actually called the spirit of the Silver Wolf."

Jargos slowed down and let then all down. Kreig immediately dropped to kneel, muttering a prayer in the Language of The Beasts. Large animals began to come into view

As her Rune started glowing, she put her hand over the marking. Luna came beside her, unsure as what to do. "Are you alright?" Luna asked.

"It keeps telling me to call the Silver Wolf."

Jargos stayed shifted and so did Kreig. Jargos looked around and was in awe. More of the large animals came fully into view. They looked like larger and more powerful versions of Jargos in his fully shifted state

Layla went to stand beside Jargos. "I'm a bit amazed," she said quietly. "They are your ancestors, correct?" She kept her left hand over the rune on her right. It was starting to irritate her a bit.

Jargos nodded to her, then nuzzled her

"Use your Rune, Layla. They want to see your shifted state" He spoke softly


Kreig stood up and went to Luna

Layla nodded. The Rune glowed as a green sphere formed in her hand. She focused it in her hands for a moment. When ready, it shattered in her hand and formed a white light around her. Within moments, she took on the forum of a wolf with a silver pelt and cerulean colored eyes.

Luna was instantly in shock. "Grandmother?" she asked.

Layla sat down on the ground with her tail wrapped around her paws.
