"I can help her, yes. But the things I am prepared to do I would naturally need proper consent, as is the way of courtesy. Seeing as she won't be able to speak on her status, you will need to since you are the closest person that knows all that is happening. I can give her my blessing, which will require us to go to the lake just beyond here. This method has been used to cure diseases like this since the beginning of her people. I am very much aware of the spell that provides her immortality; however, there is always a consequence that comes along that I am not allowed to prevent if I am to keep the natural balance of how things work. I can remove the creatures that are plaguing her body at the price of her immortality. Her spirit and body will be physically revived during the process, removing the spell that binds her and giving back the years she lost to it. Meaning, exactly, that she'll be given another chance to be with you in this lifetime without a magical twist."

"When last I heard that her immortality may need removal, I was harrowed with news she would not last long once the spell was gone . . . that only a short few days would remain. Is this true, Gaea? Will she have no time left?" There was a tear rolling down his cheek

"Without my blessing, this is true; however, with my blessing, her spirit and body itself will be revived again. As if these last hundred years had not happened, if you will. If I'm the one that removes it, it will be like a day hasn't passed her since she gained the spell that kept her immortal. All the memories she had will still be in place. She'll still know everything she does now. But she'll be restored back to her previous age and will be able to live on as a mortal with you and your friends as if nothing happened at all.

I'll break things down and make it simple. I can revive her, fully, but she will be mortal again with a life in front of her that she can live once more. You're the one that has to agree or disagree to it."

Jargos walked over to Layla and knelt down, he wondered what she wanted. After one minute, he picked her up in his arms and nodded to Gaea

"It is my firm belief that she would rather live than die. Show me the way, Gaea"

Gaea smiled. "I can take you rather than show you." With a quick gesture of her hands, they were immediately transported to the lake that was just north of Raven's hut. Knee deep into the water already, Gaea stated, "Let her body go under the water for a few seconds. She isn't going to drown, I can promise. I wouldn't allow that."

Jargos nodded, his energy sinking back into him, his words no longer necessary. He knelt down and let her body go under the water



Kreig saw the three appear at the other side of the lake and was intrigued. Instead of contiuing his walk, he watched

Gaea made several hand movements and spoke the words of Elven once more. The water turned a misty color and, in response to Gaea's magic, Layla's body even glowed a faint silver. Within a few moments, the spell had given her hair a bit of blonde-color. Her dress had been fully repaired and dyed a white color. With a little trick up her sleeve, Gaea lifted Layla's body to the surface of the water. "My work is done here. Good luck on your journeys, Jargos. My best wishes to Layliana and all of your friends." She bowed in her goodbye, and then disappeared in a flash.

Jargos lifted Layla out of the water and let loose a powerful howl. He calmed himself, then held her close to him while he walked her back to her house, he would tell Raven in the morning



Kreig was amazed, and followed Jargos back

Luna soon woke up and lit the fireplace in the lower floor of the house. She saw Jargos and Layla coming. She wondered silently what was going on.

Jargos nodded to Luna after he tucked Layla in her bed. He gave Luna a hug, then went to lay down


Kreig was taking his time, hoping the feeling would leave him

Luna watched as Jargos left the room. Something was certainly off, but she couldn't place it. With rest of the evening seemingly quiet, she picked up a book and started reading.

Kreig walked into the room and laid down on the floor, he was exhausted. He waved to Luna

Luna waved back. She turned her attention to her book but she couldn't focus at all.

Jargos and Kreig passed out

Within some time, Luna finally made it to bed and went to sleep. She and Layla slept easily through the night.

Jargos slept dreamlessly, but Kreig's rest was plagued with nightmares

Morning came over the horizon soon enough. Layla had not yet awakened, and Luna was about half asleep for part of the morning.

Jargos was still out, and so was Kreig

When Luna woke up, she checked on Layla for the morning. She placed a warm cloth on her grandmother's forehead, hoping that soon enough she would awaken to the day.

Kreig stirred, beginning to wake , but Jargos was still completely unconscious

Within some time, Layla awakened to the beautiful morning but was immediately startled when she opened her eyes. "I... I don't believe it," she said quietly while sitting up. Luna was bringing up a cup of tea when Layla had woke up. The cerulean color had been restored in her eyes and her vision had returned. The shattering of glass was heard through the house. The two were hugging as tears streamed down Layla's face in joy.

The sound awoke Kreig and he rushed in to see what was wrong

"Is everything okay?" He asked, worried


Jargos remained asleep

Layla nodded, unable to speak in her joy.

Luna said, "I don't know how, and I don't know why, but Layla's vision is back." Layla was able to clear her face for Kreig to see the color back in her eyes again, signifying the return of her vision.

"Whoa! What happened? Does Jargos know?" Kreig asked, totally amazed

Layla replied, "I have no clue at all. The last thing I remember was being in Raven's hut and then here. Nothing in-between."
