Destiny of Light

Jargos gave her a hug, then went to get some sleep

Layla sat down across from the strange man. She made sure the book stayed beside her and waited patiently through the night.

At about midnight, Jargos got up to relieve Layla

Layla got up when Jargos walked over. "He hasn't moved that I've noticed. Probably a good thing. If you're ready to take over, I'm off to bed."

Jargos nodded

"Sleep well, Layla"

Layla nodded. Picking a warm spot near the fire, she drifted to sleep.

Jargos watched as the man began to wake up. He growled, then picked him up by his neck, not chocking him yet, but ready to if need be

Layla continued to sleep, though she still could sense slight tension rising in the room.

The man began to wake up, and to his surprise, he wasn't dead

Jargos snarled and looked the man square in the eyes


The man yelled in terror

Layla woke up immediately. She stood up quickly, the scream having put her on edge for a moment. When Layla realized the man was awake, she walked calmly over to Jargos.

Kreig awoke as well, then got up to see what the commotion was about



"UNHAND ME YOU DOG!!!!" The man shouted at Jargos, but Jargos responded without word. He began to apply pressure to the man's wind pipe

Layla's markings started to glow as she had a plan come to mind. "Jargos, put him against the wall. I have a better method."

Jargos did as asked, but he made sure to slam the man against the wall


Kreig was eager to fight

After a set of hand movements, the rocky earth against the wall locked around the man's wrists, ankles, and across his waist. "He's not going anywhere any time soon. You can let go, Jargos."

Jargos didn't let go. He was breathing heavily. Every urge to kill was rising to the surface, every instinct of protection was flooding into him. This man tried to kill Kreig, and who knows what he would do if left alive


Kreig cocked his head at Jargos not responding to Layla

Layla put her hand to Jargos' arm. "Jargos, I understand your feelings toward him. The only thing we can do is get answers." She forced herself to remain calm, despite her marks vividly active.

Reluctantly, Jargos let go

Layla turned her attention back to the man. "We want to know who you are. State your name and tell us why you've chosen to be as foolish as to awaken a power that I'm sure even you can't comprehend the extent of." She remained calm as she possibly could, doing everything she knew to keep Jargos calm.

Jargos waited, impatient, waiting though


Kreig was on edge

Layla heard Luna approaching. Layla knew that, with Luna nearby, she'd have to make sure that the strange man would not break loose of his binding. With no response, Layla stated again, "I won't ask you again. I'm almost certain that I've seen that face from somewhere before. Tell me who you are."

Jargos roared into the man's face



Kreig could feel Layla coming and immediately became calm. He turned to greet her

The man growled at Layla and tried to get free of his shackles. "You're calling me a fool for following my dream to gain power? For following the same path as the same man that you and your ignorant friend killed nearly a hundred years ago?" He laughed. "You two didn't realize that he had someone already carrying on his legacy as you slept."

Jargos growled, his rage boiling

Layla's glowed as the stone grew tighter. "I'm not here to purposely inflict you pain. Your name. Now."

"Mortifer. That's all you need to know."

Jargos walked off before he lost control



Kreig was listening
