"And What, Puny Insect, makes you think I'M in charge?!?!" Mortifer laughed "I'm but a pawn, and my power was nothing compared to that of what I summoned to this world!!" He laughed as he grabbed Luna's arm and ran himself through

As Luna watched the man die to her blade in suicide, she felt her powers drop as the blue marks faded. She dropped her blade and Mortifer fell with it. Luna couldn't speak, unable to face what had just happened.

Shadows engulfed Garlan, and it looked like all hope was lost

Meanwhile, deep in Darkwoods, a roar bellows forth, a roar not heard since before the times of men in Darkwoods. It echos through the trees and all the people of Darkwoods freeze in place, their runes glowing red

Luna didn't know what to do. With Layla in sight, she grabbed her sword and did all she could to get Layla free. Within moments, Luna had Layla on her back and running out of Garlan. "Please, someone... Anyone, we need help!"

The people of Darkwoods felt themselves change into their final forms and they began to march on Garlan, but not before a charge of Ancient Beasts trampled through, stampeding to Garlan

Luna took cover behind a set of boulders just outside of Garlan. She laid Layla down on the grass. "Please, Grandmother... Please wake up." She used her healing magic on Layla.

The Beasts came into Luna's view, backed by an army from Darkwoods. No one citizen from Darkwoods has been on a warpath in over five centuries, and Luna could see why. The army was massive, and clubs and spears and and swords at the ready as they charged

Luna forced all of her magic into Layla but nothing seemed to be working; however, Luna was able to get her back to consciousness only briefly."

"Grandmother, please. I need your help."

"Y-you can win, Luna. It's up to you. I can't help you anymore. I'm sorry. For everything."

Luna took Layla's hand. "Don't leave me. Please, I beg of you."

Layla smiled. She put a hand to Luna's chest. "I'll always watch over you. Go, you need to be there. Don't run away. Never run away like I did."

With tears running down her face, Luna left Layla and went back to the fight."

The army of Darkwoods was on the assult

Luna ran back into the fight and her powers reactivated once more. The blue fire appeared around the arena as the blue markings appeared on her skin. "I'm done with this. Kreig, Jargos, Layla... All of them are gone. This fight, this evil... It ends tonight." She was attacking as many of the creatures as possible.

The Darkwoods army was making it look easy, Their numbers were 10 to 1 and the shadows were retreating, but Luna's fire was the biggest source of strength. It seemed that it inspired the army

As the shadows retreated, Luna's eyes turned blue. "I'm finishing this." The flames grew higher and prevented any exit. "There's no escape. Darkness will turn to light. This ends tonight."

The army was fighting valiantly

Luna saw the last few shadows get defeated. She dropped to her knees to catch her breath. She was exhausted at the power usage upon the markings disappearing from her skin.

The army roared in triumph as the shadows vanished

Luna gained the strength to stand back up again, though it didn't heal her pain. Tears ran down her face and it was obvious she was angry. "They're gone. That's great. That's just bloody great. But it doesn't change a da** thing!"

Jargos was the first wake, followed closely by Kreig. They were in a dark and humid place, the sounds of breathing from sick people all around them



One of the Beasts came to Luna
"I saw something in the sky, heading to the mountains. It was like a cloud of blackness. There was a woman atop it"

Luna didn't understand. "A woman?"

"A woman in long black clothes. Please, go find Layla, then follow the woman" The Beast said


The Aged Wolf was beside Layla

Luna ran out of Garlan to retrieve Layla from where Luna had to leave her. She didn't know if Layla was still alive, but all she could do was hope. Carrying Layla on her back, Luna made her way quickly to the mountains in pursuit of the woman.

The Aged Wolf followed the two

The woman was almost in full view. "Hey, stop!" Luna yelled out. She gained a tighter grip on Layla and then picked up her pace.

The Aged Wolf growled


Jargos and Kreig's eyes adjusted to the darkness and they saw they were in a pit of bodies. The people here were sickly and weak, yet they seemed weaker by the second. Kreig could smell all the energy of those in the pit, including Jargos and himself


The woman ignored Luna and kept flying on her black cloud. She seemed regal

Luna had finally had it. "That's it!" she yelled. A bright sphere formed in her hand and she trust it at the figure. "I won't take any more crap from anyone else, and that includes you!"

Kreig could sense Luna, and Jargos could sense Layla. They nodded to each other and bellowed out to try and contact them


The Aged Wolf heard the men, but the sound was deafened by the sphere striking the woman in black


The woman blocked the sphere and laughed lightly at Luna
