Misunderstood Destinies

"I have no fear, let us enter" He walked into the gates and headed down the street

"I'll stop by the inn and rent us a room. Care to come or do you wish to wander?"

"I'll come with thee, my wishes to wander shall serve no purpose other to make me lost"

Layla nodded. She rented one of the rooms and led the duo to the vacant room. "Two beds, a few candles, and a fireplace."

Jargos nodded, then entered. He looked oddly at the bed, then poked it several time with a claw. He wasn't sure if he should rest on it or not

"What is wrong?" Layla asked. She placed her staff against the wall and sat down on the bed opposite to Jargos."

"I know not if I am worthy of such a comfort as this. I have killed so many people" He kept poking the bed.

"Jargos, all we can do is move on from the incident. Put it behind you and look to a brighter future. I understand that people died, but it is also human nature for it to happen. If Destiny didn't want this to happen, then something would have stopped the events that occurred. Everything happens for a reason.''

Jargos nodded, then slowly sat down on the bed. It was soft and comfortable and he knew he would sleep well if he let himself

Layla smiled and laid back on the bed. It was relaxing, and even the pain in her side from the journey didn't bother her as much in that much relaxation.

He bit his tongue. He wanted so badly to feel this comfort, but he had caused so much pain. His eyes opened wide. He realized that he had forgotten the law of the forest. Those men had attacked him, he defended. They would have hurt the one he was indebted to, He defended her. He deserved such comfort. He crawled up into the bed and under the blanket, which miraculously enough, cloud cover his whole body. He poked his head out and looked around as the warmth cradled him.

Layla giggled a bit. "You remind me of a newborn kit under a blanket."

He let the warmth sooth him. He hadn't relaxed in such a way in almost a century. He visibly fought off the urge to ask for warm milk

Layla laid back in the bed. Daydreaming, she could imagine herself as a child back home. The thought of Zeiza was a bit painful, but the memory did soothe her thoughts.

Jargos tried to compose himself, but couldn't.

Layla had come close to falling asleep under the exhaustion of travel. "I think both of us are a little more satisfied than we probably should be." She laughed.

"Thou does not know. I have denied myself such comforts for almost a century . . ."

"Then perhaps it's time you actually take the time to enjoy yourself."

Jargos nodded, then laid back. His body felt relaxed and his soul felt calm

Layla soon dozed off a bit and took a small nap.

Jargos soon found sleep, and under the warm blanket, slept like a rock

Under the influence of peaceful thinking, Layla dreamed comfortably.

Jargos dreamed of all the comforts he denied himself, but couldn't bring himself to use more than the bed and blanket.

Layla woke up in the middle of the night. The fire was lit and warmth was in the air.
