Misunderstood Destinies

"Alright, I changed into the new dress." It wasn't exactly meant for the upcoming colder months, but living in the mountains for so long made the cold easier to bear for her.

He heard her and walked back, and was taken aback by her beautiful dress.

"It suits thee well, Layiana" He said and nodded, before laying down

She smiled. "Thank you," she replied. "Very festive, the colors are. Reminds me of the color of the leaves right before the air turns icy."

"Aye" He said as he closed his eyes

Layla sat next to the fire. It warmed her. She had a bit of a chill at the thought of Elder Ramona being a Dark Mage. She laid back in the soft grass, soon drifting to sleep.

Jargos could not seem to find sleep, but tried to rest anyway

Layla kept having dreams as to if Elder Ramona was a Dark Mage. She shifted slightly in her sleep every now and again, though she was still calm.

When dawn broke over the camp, Jargos was already awake and had gone hunting. He had tended the fire all evening and now was ready to make breakfast

Layla woke up a bit late, mostly due to her exhaustion from the previous night. Her wound had eased a bit, though was still sore.

JArgos arrived back at camp with a gutted and skinned boar over his shoulder. He bid Layla good morning, then stuck it on the spit

Layla replied with a good morning, then stood up and stretched a bit. "We have a journey that'll take us a good portion of the morning to complete. Garlan is some time away from here."

"Aye, but we can make it" He began cooking their breakfast

Layla watched quietly, wondering through thoughts in her mind.

After a half hour, the boar was ready to be eaten. Jargos tore into it and ate his fill

Layla ate a bit for the morning, more than she usually did due to the small amount the previous night. Sunbathing and breakfast made her feel a bit tired, but knew they had to continue on soon. She grabbed her staff and glanced off at Garlan. "We must leave by noon if we are to arrive by evening."

"Aye"

Jargos finished and stood up, then began packing things up

Layla took one final glance up at the mountain peak. It was the last look she wanted of Zeiza. "No regrets, no nothing. I may miss my mother and I may miss Airen, but Zeiza has become a place unsafe for you or I to be." She turned her back to it. "What Elder Ramona wants, we may never know. But, as of this point in time, I could care less."

Jargos nodded and took up the bags, then began heading for Garlan

Layla followed close behind Jargos. She took note of the surroundings and any possible changes.

Jargos seemed calm as they walked along

The afternoon seemed to pass on quick. Garlan was soon in full sight.

Jargos nodded, then stopped for a moment. He reached in one of the bags and pulled out two cloaks. They were black and hooded. He passed one to Layla and donned his own. It was too small for him, only covering to just above his knees, but he was just worried about covering his face

Layla put on the cloak quickly. "I'm sure I can afford us a room in the inn. They're fairly cheap in the currency exchange."

"Aye"

They came to the gates in Garlan. "Ready? It's now or never that we go in."
