Shannon sighed. "Coming from you, I'm doubting that."
Cathain finished up with Yolanda with instructions to stay in bed. She couldn't agree to it, however, due to the meeting the next day. Cathain did indeed have secrets she was keeping from Shannon, but she couldn't tell them. Cathain was afraid that if Shannon found out then it would put her life in danger. Then again, Shannon was in the same amount of danger if she didn't tell her. Cathain was debating if it was right to keep Lyoko from Shannon, or if it wasn't.

Cathain headed back to her dorm with Ryou behind her. Shannon decided to leave the two alone.
"Ryou, I can't keep hiding this from her. Shannon is going to find out eventually."

"I'd like an easier way to break it all to her. If she goes and follows me to the Factory, she may try to shut down the computer to stop us from going to Lyoko. And if that happens, what are we going to do then? She'll think us nuts. Call the police. They'll tear down the Factory. Destroy Lyoko. Kill me, for Heaven's sake. And if XANA's free of the computer by then, then the Earth is going to be in some serious trouble."

"The police won't touch the factory. I got a good handle on that. Also, I have a security system installed. She won't be able to get past the entrance."

"But what if she does? Ryou, you can't do everything. One of these days, Shannon's going to find out. I don't like keeping things from her, but for the sake of her life I'm trying. I want to tell her to give her fore-knowledge of XANA attacks her. But, at this rate, I'm worried about it. If XANA did something to Shannon, I'd shut down the computer myself."

"If you do that to her, Ryou, I will tell her everything. I'll keep explaining it. And I'll be there to back her up when she finds out and talks to you. If you dare lay one hand on her, you'll get my point and stick with it. I have more things to worry about than you attempting to erase her memory. I will protect her. Whatever the cost." Cathain's headache was increasing. "Stay away from her. You're really going to regret it."
Cathain left her dorm, daring Ryou to follow her. She wanted time in the library to read. She had a speech to give tomorrow, and only the Heaven's knew if she'd be ready.

Ryou sighed. He knew that Cathy was in denial, wanting to tell Shannon, yet not being able to. He still knew that if Shannon ever found out, he'd erase her memory. This way, Xana would not target her.

Cathain picked up a book to read, though not being able to focus on it. She was worried about XANA picking Shannon as a target to get to her. Cathain also knew what XANA wanted. She feared that it would soon be the end of Lyoko... and the end of her life. Her main priority, however, was protecting anyone, and everyone. Especially her first, and most trusted friend at Kadic. At any cost.

Ryou was at the factory as he saw Xana's form appear. "Yo Xana, any reason for you to show so suddenly?"

Cathain stood up and put her book down. She had a bad feeling, and her headache wasn't helping.

Xana aimed for Ryou as Ryou dodged the attack and punched Xana, distorting its form. he maliciously grinned. "Factory Code XAV." Ryou spoke as his aura became visible. Xana was erased from the real world as Ryou returned to his dorm room. There was no activated tower, thus he could go to his dorm room.

"Cathain, are you sure you're alright?"
"The medication isn't helping."
"Lay down. I'll stay with you."
"It's not like I'm about to drop dead into a coma."

Meanwhile, a fake copy of Ryou was heading to Cathy.

Ryou's eyes had Xana's mark visible within them. The real Ryou was on his way.

A sword suddenly went through Ryou, cutting him in half. Xana's form was distorted as Ryou appeared. "Oy Xana, sneaking an attack on me like that and going after my friends. Do you have a death wish?" Ryou turned to Cathy and Shannon. "You guys okay?" He asked in a cold voice, blood running down his face.
