Cathain sighed. "Sorry. I didn't ask for it because I've never liked it when people went out of their way. And, normally, I don't like charity given to me like that. Considering the circumstances, I guess I don't have much of a choice. If I don't get a house, I can't go back to Lyoko when school's out. Meaning, someone else would have to get to the towers. And I'm the only one that can access the upper floor database when necessary."

Cathain stood up. "I've got some things to attend to. I'll be in my room, though I'd rather be alone. Shannon, Ryou, if you would excuse me." Cathain left the shop and headed back to Kadic alone.

Shannon shrugged. "She's been that way since I met her. Always keeping to herself. She tells me some things, but I know there's more than she lets on that gets to her."

Ryou went to the waitress as he managed to lock the door. Nobody was in the cafe. "Hello, Xana."

Shannon helped the trapped waitress.
"Hey, you alright?"
"I... I think so."
"Take the day off. You need a lie down, I'm sure."
"I think I will. My shift is over."

Shannon stepped outside as she saw Ryou covered in blood and a dead corpse of data on the floor.

"We both have digital keys. She has a class warrior key. I have a class network key. A class warrior key was the default key. She registered on Lyoko herself and obtained that key. The key has a weak, but stable encryption. Xana wants to take advantage of that, having her trapped in Lyoko, so he can take advantage of the real world, or trap her out of Lyoko so he can take advantage of Lyoko. A class network key is a highly encrypted key that cannot be touched. Only Xana possess this key, until he fought with me in my old school. I apparently absorbed some of that digital key. That explains why I have the same abilities as him. It seems that the key adapted to the real world and it clung to the first object that exists in the real world. Rather than adapting to the clone he created, it adapted to me, since a human is more real than a clone of data that has been solidified. Since Xana cannot use the digital key I possess, it goes for Cathy's key, since keys that are adapted to humans have been perfected. He wants a perfected key to materialize easily and completely in the real world. Since mine is untouchable, just like his is, Cathy's the only target. The best I can do is to constantly increase the encryption of her key and to protect her from Xana."

"It's bound to be more than that. Do you think it's something she knows? Specifically? XANA has had more than enough chances to ultimately kill her. There's bound to be something he's after that he can't crack out of her."
