"You do not come from this realm. What brings you here, mortals?" the spirit asked.
"We come for peace, sir," Zelda replied.
"Though, we do have proof of our peace reasoning," Heron replied.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you."
"Are you familiar with the Elites? The beings that slayed Shadow-Bearer ten to twenty years ago?" Heron asked.
"Indeed."
"And are you familiar with the bridge between spirit and mortal?"
"Yes."
"The woman you see with me is one of these beings. An Elite. Although, her group does not use their title often."
"Sir, the people I have worked with do not wish to fight you. Rather help you."
"I do not believe you. The Elite group disappeared years ago."
"It was to protect our identities. My name is the Guardian. Mother of the Gate. Previously the bridge between worlds, though my title now passed on to my daughter." Zelda held out her wrist, showing her marking. "My role is to protect, not to harm."
"If you are who you say you are, then who is this mortal?"
"The one who I was bound to for an eternity. My partner, as you would rather say."
"And his role?"
"Not an Elite, but blessed by those who keep balance in the world. The people I come from."

"Now what do you want, mortal? Have you come to die?" "I am here to make peace on behalf of the mortals and the spirits." The spirits was surprised to hear Alan refer to the mortals as mortals.

Maya and Alex proceeded to a large tent at the back of the camp. "This is my tent, and you are welcome to enter." The two stepped inside, seeing a small fire formed within a pot and a few blankets behind it. Vivian walked over and rolled the blankets together, moving them over, and sat where they once were. "Warm yourselves. It is cold outside, and thus we try to keep things warm." Maya noted how Vivian wore a darker robe than what she had expected. "What brings you here?" Vivian asked the two as they sat down.
"Peace. We hope to bring peace to the two rival realms before a war begins."
"I would love peace myself, but, these people need to be protected. Those spirits are savages."
"That isn't necessarily true. My name is Maya Gardner. My friend is Alex Langston. I come from a group that has protected the world countless times from danger. The Elites."
"Their names I know well. The tales of the invincible three. Alan Langston, Zelda Twunnysixteen, and another young lad. Let me guess. You're the daughter of the one called the Guardian, aren't you?"
"How did you know?"
"I can see it in your eyes. I traveled a bit during my day. I caught a glimpse of them once. But, never truly met them. You both favor your parents. It is a shame that there wasn't a third child to carry on the legacy. Only two."

"Give us a reason not to report you and have you executed for trespassing these grounds?" "I am, although I hate the usage of the word, an Elite." "Those morons don't exist anymore." Alan's Mind Sync mark glowed as the spirits backed up. "The name's Langston. Alan Langston. I have come to end the war once and for all." "Those morons deserve it for attacking us so randomly." "Black energy has been manipulated by those above you to drive the mortal world into a clash with the spirit world. The mortals are to believe that you started the fight, while you are to believe that they had. That is the enemy's goal. We all share a common enemy. Rather than disputing against allies, we should work together to destroy our common enemy, not to quite destroy, but to rather eliminate from our worlds." "I see. And your proof?" Alan's new mark glowed as the spirits saw events run by their minds in mere seconds. "I apologize for our rudeness, sir." The spirits said in unison, terrified at the enemy's doings.

"We want to help you, sir. Please. Consider stopping your troops from going to war. We ask this of you."
Zelda and Heron explain recent events that lead to believe the theory of the higher power starting the war.
"I will consider it. Give me a few days. May I ask that of you?"
"Of course."
"However, should we hear word of betrayal, before my decision is made, I will seek you both out and kill you myself."
"A fair deal," Zelda replied.
"A... what?" Heron asked.

Alan asked Zelda telepathically, "Are you done yet? I convinced the upper spirits to end this individual ray of assaults."

"We can't risk anything right now. Just let him be to make his choice."
"Alright."
The two left the campsite, and Zelda replied back to Alan.
"Give him a few days. He said he wants time to decide. We at least owe him that."

"But, back to what we wanted to ask, we want to ask if you would stop your army and agree to a peace treaty. There is a reason for why this war started, and it's not the spirit's fault," Alex stated.
"Ha! Like I'd believe that. Those people are savages. Killing off mortals. They need to take on their own kind. We were not born with powers like them, but we will fight back with what we have now."
"Please, you must listen to reason. Lives are at stake here," Alex replied.
"As much as I want peace, it isn't going to happen."
"If you want peace, then join my group," Maya asked.
"I will consider, but not guarantee."
"Thank you," Maya replied.
"Now, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to attend to some business. Come back here in a few days."
"Alright. We will. Come on, Alex. Let's go home."
Maya formed a portal as Alex went through it. The portal suddenly closed and Vivian came behind Maya. Maya turned around and Vivian placed her hand on Maya's mouth to keep her from calling out to someone.

"I know you have a power beyond what you say. But, I'll be sure that this war ends in my favor. Not these people, or those spirits. Nor yours. I'll be sure, however, that when you awaken again, that all of this will mean nothing to you and you won't have the strength to interfere in my plans," Vivian stated. Maya instantly fell unconscious. Vivian caught Maya in her arms and they both suddenly disappeared.

Alan, Zelda, and heron were already back to the room as they waited for Maya and Alex to arrive.

Zelda watched as Alex entered.
"Okay, so, that's.. four. Who's missing?"
"Maya is. Do you think she stayed behind?"
"Possibly."
"Alex, where did Maya go?"

Alan closed his eyes as he soon opened them. "I know where she is, but you're not going to like it." Alex asked, "Don't tell me..." "Yeah..." Alex banged his fist against the wall next to him.

(I'm trying to keep Vivian's secret, well, secret. Bear with me here. >.<)

"Where is she at?" Heron asked.

Vivian arrived with Maya at a larger building. Almost like a castle. Vivian took Maya to a chamber in a to a tower in the castle itself. She placed her on a padded table in the room. Vivian stood over her, placing her hands just slightly above her body. A black aurora surrounded her hands, and turned almost dyed purple mixed with the black. Maya awakened, only to feel suddenly weakened.

"Wh.. what are you doing?.."
"I'm taking that which keeps you from going anywhere. Your power, and that key of yours. I have been watching all of you, and I know you depend on it. And I also know one thing that people like you do not tolerate." Vivian pulled a small blade from her pocket and marked across the marking on Maya's wrist. She let out a sudden yell, and Vivian placed her hand on the girl's face.
"Do not scream. There is no point in it. Where I have taken you you will not find an escape. You have no healing abilities, and, just for the record, it is not Black Energy that takes away your strength. A special little thing of mine. My power, which is much more powerful than any of your partners, can eat at yours. I can and will overpower you." Vivian began to walk away. Maya glanced in her direction with a faint look.
"And, to give you something to think about," Vivian waved her hand as a purple barrier shimmered, then disappeared, "You're trapped here. No one can hear you. No one can find you. I'll be back in a moment. Don't go anywhere~" Vivian laughed as she turned around and suddenly faded. There was no door or window in the room. Maya started breathing heavily, trying to contain all her power and fight back Vivian's.
"She's too powerful. I can't move, and I can't hardly breathe. Whatever she has done to my marking, it's blocking off all my powers. I can barely concentrate, at that..." Maya whispered to herself.

Vivian soon returned, and removed Maya's key.
"My plan will succeed. Just you wait."
Vivian took the key and returned back to the campsite. Then, hid it in a box. She had a plan.

"Perhaps we should go talk with the leader of the Mortal Campsite. They might know where she is, if she isn't held captive."

"You said it, not me. I sense her location, but it's highly active, meaning the person holding her will know. I can get her out of there easily, but I need to do it quietly to avoid ruining our plans."

"Well, if that's the case, then we all need to be together. If it's that dangerous."

Vivian returned back to the castle after a short time had passed. Appearing in Maya's chamber, she walked up to her. "Hm... her power is definitely draining. I can almost feel it."
Maya's face drew a pale color, and blood dripped from her wrist. She was still breathing heavily. "Y... you demon.."
"Oh, honey, don't try to speak. It'll only make your breathing harder. Let's try not to make this any harder than it already is."
Vivian placed her hand to Maya's forehead.
"Let's see here..."
Maya felt an immense pain pressure her mind. "This, my dear, will show your friends how powerful I truly am. But, my identity will remain a mystery. When they find you, you will be nothing but a body and a drained spirit."
Maya suddenly felt lightheaded and she thought the room was spinning. "Mom... Dad... Alan..." she immediately fell into a heavy unconscious state and Vivian disappeared again, only to reappear back at the campsite to finish her work back at the site. She figured that the group would be after Maya eventually. But, it would be to no avail. For as in the condition she had left Maya, she expected them to react badly.

"Maya!" Alan yelled, hearing her faint screams. Alan's fist tightened as millions of ways to kill whoever was responsible for this, crossed through his mind swiftly.

"I know exactly where she is. I just can't risk activating the alarm. We should go talk with the mortal camp."

"Then let's hurry, already!" Zelda called.
"Calm down, Zelda. She'll be alright. We'll find her," Heron said, hugging her slightly.

"Let's just go talk to the Mortal Campsite leader. She was the last person that Maya spoke to."
"Alright," Zelda said.

"Let's go." Alan replied as the four vanished and reappeared by the entrance to the mortal campsite.

"Okay, so, which way would the leader's tent be--" Heron said, interrupted.
"Ah, welcome! I'm so glad you all found your way here! We've been sending out search parties, hoping to find more mortals that might've been lost during some of the fights that have been occurring." Vivian held out her hand, telling the guards to allow them to pass.
