"I didn't necessarily mean to kill them. I'm just tired of them attacking all of us. I had to live part of my life knowing my wife and daughter were always in danger. I wasn't always a target. They usually focused on them two."

"The only thing I can do is hope that I can protect them. I don't have powers like you, or Alex. Nor Zelda or Maya. I have only one power that I can only use when they're in danger. And I know I'm not always there when something goes wrong."

Heron walked off and sighed. Checking on Zelda, after finding out Maya was asleep, Zelda was still awake.
"Are you alright?" Heron asked.
"I think I'm getting a migraine. It's probably a result from coming in contact with Black Energy."
Heron placed his hand on Zelda's forehead. "You feel like you're getting a fever. Are you feeling alright aside from the headache?"
"For the most part."

"What happens when you get hit by that kind of energy?"
"It depends if I'm attacked with it, or if I come in contact. I can't handle that kind of energy. That's Maya's department. When I come in contact with it, it suffocates me. Turns my energy against me. That's probably why I'm getting this much of a headache."
"Want me to go talk to Alan about it?"
"It's not that big of a deal."

"Stubborn as always." Alan whispered telepathically, not wanting to wake Maya up.

"Well, if you're not feeling well, then someone needs to make sure that energy isn't still lingering in you."
Maya walked in after waking up to get something to drink.
"Her ability won't let her develop an immunity to Black Energy. That's the issue. She's vulnerable to it. Even if Alan and I both were to try, her ability would block it. If you've got that kind of energy within you, still, then I need to try to remove it."
"I don't think I even do. I think it's just the after-math of the fight. The person who possessed you held a load of energy within that sphere. I forced the energies within it to explode. I hoped that the light and Black energies would mix, which would make the blast less likely to tear my own spirit apart. I can take a small amount, but, when it was something that large, I have a very small limit of toleration before my ability can't block it."

Heron shook his head in disbelief. Turning his attention to Zelda, he asked, "Are you sure that you're alright? Look, I'm not taking my chances."
"I'm fine. Just a headache. That's all."
"Even I'm doubting that," Maya replied.

"Really? Majority thing?"
"Majority rules, mom."
"I question who I asked to raise you those years." Zelda rolled her eyes.

"They're raising themselves." Alan said, laughing to himself as he put his hands together. A dark aura shot from Alan to Zelda.

"You know, you better hope that you weren't hit by any Black Energy and held it. I swear, if you did..." Heron stated.
"I can sense it, but I can't quite tell if it's from the aftermath or the attack itself," Maya replied.

The dark energy shot back from Zelda to Alan as he released his stance. "It's the aftermath. I can purify it if you want."

Alan's eyes turned red as Zelda's body had blue flames ignite from it, not harming Zelda at all. The fire faded into the air as black energy took a form of a young girl. The girl lay on the floor unconscious as Steve approached her. The girl woke up from unconsciousness, slowing sitting up. "Welcome back, sis." He said as he hugged her tightly.

Zelda smiled, happy to see the two together. She didn't have to know what happened before. "It's nice to see you two reunited. I lost my sister many years ago, but, at least seeing you two together it makes me feel a bit better."
