Alan's eyes became red as his mark glowed. He faded into the wind as he headed back to the Lightened's Headquarters.

"I think it's getting late. What time is it? One AM?" Heron asked.
"I believe so," Zelda replied.
"Why don't we all go to bed? There's an extra room for Steve's sister."
"I wouldn't mind some sleep."
"Then let's all go get some rest. Alan will return probably in the morning."

Alan appeared in the Headquarters as he bashed someone towards the wall. the man fell dead to the floor, his body fading into the darkness. "LEVEL 10 ALERT --" The computer voice said as it faded down to an empty silence in the Headquarters. Alan walked forward as three men aimed at him. Alan dodged the attack by moving back a few steps as he calmly moved forward, killing the three. "You're surrounded! Who are you?!" "I'm broken." The men suddenly backed away as a light emitted from all directions. The men laid unconscious as Alan moved forward, looking for the head of the Lightened, the one responsible for the Fate virus on the computers.

As everyone walked off, Heron stayed in the room for a short while to make sure everyone went off to sleep and no shadows remained.

Alan walked into the office as he killed the security guards on the left and right. "Alan, long time, no see."

Somewhere in the house, Heron sensed something. Something strange. He had never had the ability to tell a strange entity from another person.

As he walked into the main room, he saw something. A Shadowy figure, perhaps. He glanced at Heron, and Heron returned that look. The Shadow suddenly moved, and grabbed onto Heron's neck in an attempt to suffocate him. Black Energy stood within that Shadow.

"Your power is drained each moment you touch this energy, mortal."
Heron immediately grabbed hold of the Shadow, pulling its' hands off his neck. Heron felt a burning sensation on his neck and hands.
"I don't know what you're after, but you're not getting it."
"Oh, I will. For as torturing you, is my goal. Come with me, and we can avoid this."
"No way. I have a wife and a daughter here that need me."
"Then let the torture begin."

The two conversed as Alan interrupted, "That's where you're wrong. I was never yours to begin with. I always had a feeling about your true purpose. But now that my future is fixed, I plan on breaking it." Alan's mark became active as the head showed his infinity mark. "I can easily kill you, Alan." "My mark is true, unlike you. Let'see how your fake mark compares with the real deal!" Alan's level 10 powers broke lose as a gust of win surrounded the room, destroying everything in sight, except for Alan and the head. "Now, do you still want to mess with me?" "You will die." "So be it." Alan replied. A gust of wind hit the infinity mark of the head as it broke off, the black energy shooting from the head to Alan. Steve began to breathe again. "I knew there was something odd when you weren't in your room." Steve fell unconscious as he managed to thank Alan. Alan looked at the head, his eyes staring at his."You die first. The shadow tormenting Heron is next." The head saw a flash of light as everything went black. The black energy from him faded away as he vanished. "About time." Alan returned to the group with Steve. After Steve was in bed, Alan appeared in the living room, where Heron was being tortured by the enemy.

The shadow quickly ran up to Heron, as Heron quickly dodged. He started to form a sphere in his hand as he thought, "No, I can't use it. Not right now. If I do, I risk losing it entirely."
"What is it, mortal? Lost your power?"
"No, my power comes from defense of my family. And because it's against me, I can't use it."
"Good."
The Shadow suddenly vanished and reappeared behind Heron, grabbing his head with two hands.
"Get... off... of me.."
"No, because this is the kind of torture I do enjoy. Draining the power of another. It's delicious."
Heron reached behind him to grab the figure's hands. His entire head and hands burned now from the energy touching his skin.
"Doesn't it burn? Doesn't it? It's wonderful."
Heron started to attempt to pull the figure off of him, but he felt every last bit of his power and energy start to deplete.
"Enough!" Heron pulled loose and quickly had gotten a small distance away. He started panting for breath.

"Die, bast***." A voice said as the shadow was knocked back. Alan's hair was spiked up, his level 10 powers still active from his invasion on the Headquarters. "Heron and I go way back. You mess with him, you mess with me. You don't want to mess with me." Time slowed down as the background was tinted red. "Time is paused except you and Heron will not face its effects. Now, are you going to return the power you drained or shall I do it in an instant?"

"Power is returned on its' own. Only, with as much as I took from him, it would take much time to do so. You're about to be out of your own time, boy."

"If I kill you, he will. I can absorb and manipulate energies. But of course, I intend on interrogating you, not killing." A gust of wind came as the shadow was locked against the wall, incapable of moving. Alan's eyes opened as a seal formed on the ground. The Infinity mark vanished as Alan's old mark awakened. "Be gone from the foul spirit and return to your origin." Heron's powers and energy shot from the shadow to Alan as it circled around the seal, then redirecting at Heron. The seal vanished as Alan's mind sync took over. The infinity mark reappeared, now in a new shape.

Alan gave a warm smile as the shadow fell to the floor. Alan absorbed and purified the energy as the shadow faded away.
