| Alan pushed Heron down and covered himself and heron with a barrier. Both stayed low, on the stomachs in the low barrier. "It's not Maya, I know it. She delivered the key to the enemy. They are going to try to unlock its powers. In one to two days, when they have failed miserably to unlock it, they will grow tired of experimentation and kidnap the real Maya. By then, we will not be home, but we will strike them. This information does not leave this barrier. Zelda is already aware."

| As Heron walked in, he saw Maya as the Key glowed a black center.
"Maya, what the heck are you doing? Snap out of it!"
"You are of no importance to me, human. Try all you want, for this one is who I seek and not you."
"But you still hold my daughter within you. Remove yourself before you destroy both the body and the spirit of you and her."
"Do I play games? No, I do not. Leave. Now."
"I stand where I shall want. I will speak in your manner if I must. For one so foolish as you to stand in the path of what should be, is a fool who shall die a painful death and making the mistake of taking my daughter. A small brained spirit for a big talking wannabe is all I see in this picture, and taking a girl meant to fulfill her destiny as your prey. For, as you can see, she may be different, but I have one thing that can protect her and that you cannot destroy even with your cold heart and mind holding her."
"Oh? And what is that?"
"Love, family, and a gift from the heavens above."
Heron formed in his hand a golden sphere that changed forms into a whip-like rope. Striking it at the figure holding Maya, it wrapped around her like a snake, and using pressure to keep them both still.
"Its powers can remove your spirit from hers. Release now, and you shall not face a painful death. I will promise you that."
"Humans do not keep promises."
"Then you have certainly not met this human."
The binding wrapped tighter as the spirit began to be removed.

| Alan was already gone from the room, his eyes glowing red. Two men suddenly appeared behind him in black cloaks, following him. Three more suddenly appeared, aligned in the order. "We strike now!" The group disbanded as explosions covered their yells. "Level 10 emergency. Evacuate immediately..." The computer's voice faded as the alarm still continued. "The Broken will prevail..." A voice echoed. Heron heard various explosions outside as men in white cloaks ran down he hall past the open door. Men in black cloaks followed. "Be gone!" The men in the white cloaks vanished.

| As the spirit began to pull from Maya, the snake-like whip then extended and rose to destroy the spirit. It quickly swallowed it. All that was left was mere screams from the destroyed spirit. The whip turned to it's sphere-state and disappeared. Heron quickly caught Maya as she blacked out. He saw she had the Key, still. | |
