| Tom looked at the stars as he sighed. "Everyone's looking down and there's nothing I can do about it..." A doppelganger of Tom appeared next to him as his eyes glowed green. "Alice didn't mean to snap at you earlier. Cheer up, Tom. You're just too worried. Relax." "How can I relax? I'm practically useless." "You idiot. You saved Kat from freezing in the snow." "I gave her a coat. Big deal." "You idiot. Stop worrying and take some time to smell the roses."
Tom looked in front of him as he laid his hands on the edge of the fence. He looked down to see roses hanging on the fence at the hotel lobby's balcony. Tom took a deep breath in as he sighed. He smelled the roses as he looked at the beautiful full moon and the stars.
"Sometimes you're the only friend I got, Wind. That's just sad... but thanks... that really cheered me up." Tom replied as he gave a warm smile. "No problem. We have about 4 hours left until Kat awakens. What shall we do?" "I'm not sure..."

| Tom returned to Kat's room as he saw Alice was asleep. Tom was about to drag the covers over her before he called it a night as he noticed that Alice was having a nightmare. Tom's eyes flashed red as Alice's nightmare ended. Tom cleaned up the cards as he out them away, since Jason wasn't back. Tom then approached Kat as he poked her on her forehead. "You better be okay in four hours." Tom whispered, to avoid waking Kat or Alice up. To gave a warm smile as he got a chair in another room and fell asleep.

| Tom looked at his watch as he returned to Kat and Alice. Tom poked Kat on her forehead as he put the folded wet towel on Kat's forehead. He handed a cup of tea in his hand to Alice as he drank the other cup of tea. "So how did you sleep last night? Tom asked, mumbling some of the words, deciding whether to ask Alice, since she might yell at him for asking.

| Alice closed her eyes for a moment. She was trying to remember the dream.
"It's starting to come back now," she replied. "All of us were together. At the festival. You and Jason then decide to head to the Cafe to pick up some tea for everyone. As you two are leaving, something instantly appears, I don't know what, and Kat was taken down in a split second."

| "Shadows..." Tom replied, suddenly banging his fist against the wall. "IDIOT!" Tom suddenly yelled as he slapped himself repeatedly. "Blue moon, festival, shadows... I suggest we split up at a time like this? IDIOT." Tom slapped himself repeatedly until he stopped, getting a bit light-headed.

| "Oy. I don't to hear any hero crap. I'm no hero..." Tom mumbled, a flashback suddenly coming to him. The flashback came alive as Tom was suddenly watching his childhood memory. He sensed another presence as if Alice was with him. A voice suddenly spoke,
"Tom, you're alive!"
"I was in the closet..."
"YOU'RE A HERO!"
"WHAT?! I HID IN A FREAKING CLOSET."
"You stayed alive and survived the shadows. You'll play a large role in the prophecy. You're a hero!"
"I LET EVERYONE IN MY SCHOOL DIE BECAUSE I HID IN THE CLOSET. THEY CAME FOR ME!"
"Hm?"
"DON'T YOU GET IT?! I LET THEM ALL DIE. MY ONLY FRIENDS DIED BECAUSE OF ME!"
"And you lived! You're a hero!"
"WHAT THE HE** ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I LET THEM DIE OVER MY OWN FEAR.
EVEN WITHOUT POWERS, I LET THEM DIE. I WAS ROCKING BACK AND FORTH IN A
CLOSET, HYPERVENTILATING AND IN FEAR. I COULD HAVE SAVED THEM. A TRUE
HERO WOULD HAVE SAVED THEM! I SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING, EVEN IF IT
MEANT DEATH OR EVEN WORSE! I'M NO HERO SO SHUT UP WITH YOUR STUPID

"Fate is set in stone, Tom --"
"I'LL BREAK EVERY STONE IF I HAVE TO! FATE HAS NO POWER OVER ANYTHING. I WILL SURPASS FATE!"
"You silly boy, you know you can't surpass Fate--" The man patted Tom on his head as he began to absorb his powers.
"I... WILL... SURPASS... FATE!"
"Just die like you should have and be that true hero." The man spoke in a
different tone. Tom fell to the ground as he looked up. The man stomped
Tom's head to the ground as blood began to spill out.
"You little brat. Just die."
"I... will change Fate... I will not let my friends... die in vain... I WILL SURPASS FATE!" Tom replied, his eyes flashing red. The man stomped Tom's head again as more blood spilled out. The man was thrown back as Tom put his head up.
"I WILL SURPASS FATE!" A seal appeared below Tom as it unlocked. Tom yelled, "YOU KILLED MY FRIENDS... YOU HIRED THAT SHADOW... I WILL KILL YOU!"
Tom yelled in rage as the man went to kill off the seal and connection. Tom's eyes flashed as he punched the man back, hole forming from his stomach to his back. "DIE!" Tom yelled as he fell to the floor, unconscious. The man laid on the floor, dead.

"I think I understand now. But, Tom, you're still a hero. You lived through that for a reason. I don't know how I know this, exactly, but, you're destined for so many great things. You're taking life one step at a time. If it wasn't for you, Kat would be dead. The world would be in peril. I know now she's a part of the prophecy spoken by legend. It's the only explanation. If it wasn't for you, then who knows what sort of chaos would've been released. Unbelievable evil. This realm would've been in an eternity of despair. You did more than save her life. You saved the day." | |

| Tom went to check on Kat as he placed his hand on Kat's stomach closing his eyes. He move his hand slowly up as a seal appeared. "Restoration complete, Tom Kaos, Spirit World Connection closed, seal renewed." Tom spoke as he slowly placed his hand on Kat's stomach again. The seal followed his hand's movement as it went on Kat's stomach. It suddenly vanished as Tom moved his hand and poked Kat's forehead. Tom moved his hand back to his side and relaxed it.
