That was when her spirit was starting to lose touch with her body. Because she had such little power she could access, apparently, she stored that. And the power she drew off the moon gave her a cover. Her spirit could absorb it. Kat couldn't. Thus, when the attack began, Raven was created to conceal Kat's identity.
