Just another day in the Apocalypse

Keith didn't have an answer to that, so he let it drop and started walking

Cyrus sighs as Keith walks back on. Cyrus goes back to the house to assist Joey. Night soon falls.

Keith had walked for a long time, or more . . . stalked. In truth, Keith was hunting for zombies, he needed something to help him get this aggression out. Soon, he heard shuffling and moaning. An evil grin crept onto his face as he turned to face the direction which he heard the sounds from. He made sure to make plenty of noise as he stomped over. The moaning and shuffling grew louder as he moved and soon he could see the figures. There were five or six. Keith shouted to get their attention, and readied himself as they turned and stumbled towards him. He went on a rampage, his machetes hacking and slashing into skulls. One got close to biting him, but was met with a Spartan kick and sent flying back. Decapitations and skull splitting chops slaughtered the zombies and Keith did feel a little better

By nightfall, Joey had kept track of Dare's progress. She had turned slightly pale, weakened severely from the virus, and she was carrying a heated fever. Her body was hardly capable off fighting the virus but it had to do what it needed to. Cyrus did whatever he could to keep her comfortable, a pistol still ready on his belt, but there wasn't much he could do. At this point, Joey was doing whatever it would take to save Dare.

Keith headed back to the building, his head clearing a bit after blowing off the steam

Joey remained alongside Dare while Cyrus went and made coffee for everyone.

Keith walked back inside, but then heard a large crashing sound coming from outside and darted to find out. His jaw dropped as the figure that made the noise came into view. It was massive, standing taller than a basket ball player with a bodybuilder's physique. It's greenish gray skin looked melted, revealing the red muscle tissue and sinew below. It's jaw looked distended and it's lack of lips displayed it's shark-like teeth. It's massive hands were tipped with savage looking claws. There was no eye on the left side of it's face, but the right compensated by have three. The figure was a few yards away, a young tree pushed out of it's way must've been what made the crashing sound. Matt and Sasha ran outside after Keith, both cusing aloud at the horrific sight

Cyrus hurried outside with Matt and Sasha. When he saw the huge creature he yelled, "Cathy, grab the shotguns and hurry out here!"

Keith slipped on two patches and pulled out his mace. He started walking to the creature as the creature started walking to him. The figure almost looked like it was grinning. The creature made the first swing, it's speed unthinkable for it's size. Keith blocked, but before he could retaliate, he had to block another strike. Keith used his footwork to start maneuvering the creature closer to Cyrus and the others, giving them perfect shoots. The patches began to kick in, boosting Keith and getting him ready to go on the offensive

On her back, Cathy brought out three shotguns. She passed one to both Matt, Sasha, and Cyrus. She wasn't one for a gun. She had something better. However, Cathy wanted the other three to have proper weapons.

Keith fought hard, blocking most of the time, and then his mace met the knee of the creature. Keith backed up as it fell, giving the others the chance to shoot, as well as himself a chance to breath

Once more Cyrus took the opportunity to shoot. From a top window, Cathy was seen aiming a crossbow. She was going for a headshot.

The creature got back up and the sound of guttural chuckling could be heard from it's maw. It charged Keith who responded by swinging his mace up and into it's jaw. The force of the impact flung the creature backwards and flat on it's back, but it got right back up. It's didn't even look wounded

Cathy shot quickly, aiming for a headshot. "Everyone get down!" she yelled as she fired.

The arrow went straight into the creature's temple, a perfect shot. Keith swung on last time, his tunnel vision blocking the sound of Cathy's warning

Upon the creature falling dead, Cyrus went and put a hand to Keith's shoulder. "Come on. Let's all get a cup of coffee. I think we could use it at this point."

Joey still worked with Dare who, at this point, had someone come back to consciousness. "Joey...?" she asked.

"I'm here, Dare. You're gonna be alright." He wasn't sure if he was trying to convince her or himself.

"Update?" she asked weakly.

"The prototype's responding... You got pretty lucky this time."

"As always." She laughs a bit and turns her head a bit to rest.

Keith's mace had smashed into the creature's skull, crushing it before Cyrus walked up. "What is it?" He asked before walking back to the house

"I figured getting a cup of coffee might be a stress relief. Joey's still working with Dare, and she's holding pretty good so far."

"That thing, what is it?" Keith asked, hoping Cyrus had a clue

"I'm not entirely sure how it came to be that way. He was probably an athlete. The virus' response to his body must have 'buffed' him up a bit."

"Geez" Keith said. He walked a bit, trying to cool off.

He sighs. He goes back inside to wait for Keith and to keep a check on Dare.

After a minute, keith walks back inside and heads to Dare's room, wondering how she's doing

Joey stands as Keith enters. "Hey, I figured you were gonna come soon. Want a spare water bottle?"

"Yeah, thank you" Keith said as he entered. He took a sip of the water before leaning his back against a wall. "How is she?" he asked, clearly concerned
