Just another day in the Apocalypse

Cyrus is hit and thrown back into a tree very painfully. He had taken worse hits when he was in the military as a teenager, however. Half conscious, he struggled to pull his body back up and hold the gun outward again, ready to fire.

Before Marc could hit again, Keith grabbed him and lifted him up over his head, dropping him over his knee and breaking his spine. Marc fell limp, knocked out from the pain of his spine shattering. Keith back up and then went to help Cyrus. "Stand tall, soldier" he said as he helped Cyrus to his feet

Cyrus put the pistol back on his belt. He stood, though he was suffering from a severe headache and possibly a fractured skull. He couldn't tell. He gave a partial grin. "It takes... more than that... to knock down a soldier."

"Let's get back before my patches wear off" Keith said as he picked up the police radio and helped Cyrus back to the building. He could feel his strength fading, he was going to pay severly for the overdose, but he needed to beat Marc.

Dare and Joey hid mostly upstairs. Every car that passed they had a rising fear in them. Dare almost swore she could hear them getting closer. She didn't know if it was real or her paranoia.

Keith helped Cyrus inside and then went to the couch to crash

After Keith is inside, Cyrus goes to talk to Joey. "Joey, we've got cops coming here soon. Keith's down for now and there's nothing I can do until the... adrenaline wears off."

"What are we going to do then?"

"If they come here early, I'll take the cloak and run. They'll think that she is me."

Matt and Sasha were inside with joey and Dare and nodded at the plan

Dare took a breath. She didn't want Keith or the others hurt, and yet, at the same time, she wanted to run. She had made a decision and she would keep to it.

An hour passes, Cyrus carefully monitoring over Keith to ensure he was still alive.

Keith was asleep in no time, but the police radio woke him up. "We've run into a problem, a large group of zombies has blocked the highway off, we can't progress until they move." Keith grinned a bit and did everything he could to get up and go tell the others

Cyrus looks at Keith, who is coming towards them. Dare is in a room over.

Cyrus says, "Hey, good to see you up. Feeling better?"

"Cops are gonna be held up for a while, we might be able to change plans and evac, then come back after the cops leave." Keith said

"The police are going to be here within an hour. If they've got bloodhounds, they'll track her. The government will do everything it can to get to her."

"No, it'll be two hours, and if they've got hounds they'll find her in here quicker" Keith argued

Cyrus sighs. "Whatever we need to do, we need to do it soon. Dare's unnerved, and I've never seen her like this."

"Let them chase, we'll be in cars going through backwoods. Let's move" Keith said

Cyrus nods, then going to go get Dare. He brought her along and motioned for Keith to lead.

Keith lead the way out and to the cars. "Matt, go inside and get everything you can, computers, food, weapons, everything" He helped Dare into her Jeep on the passenger side

Dare took a seat on the passenger side. Cyrus looked to Keith. "What about Joey and I? Shall we tag along or sit back and distract the officers?"

"Hop into the truck with Matt and Sasha, we're not leaving anyone behind" Keith said. After he helped Dare, Keith went to help Matt. After about 20 minutes, the two had finished everything needed and then climbed into the cars. Keith lead the way in the cars, driving through the backwoods, trying to find a non-highway road

Dare listened for any sound of sirens, any gunshots, in the case they ran into earshot of the police.

"You're gonna be okay, Dare" Keith said as their path lead to an offshoot of the highway, heading away from the cops. Keith took his patches off and then focused on driving

Dare sighed. "I've been on the run for a long time, Keith. If they want to find me badly enough, I know they will. All I can do is keep running and hope I can keep them off my trail."

"Quit being a pessimist, you've got help now. We'll all keep you safe and you and Joey will figure this thing out." Keith reassured her as he drove

Dare nodded some. "I'll take your word for it then." She leans up against the back railing and props her head against it. She was exhausted and almost ready to crash completely.
