Jargos nodded and went up the ladder. He waited patiently for her to get up so that he could help get her wounds treated


Kreig could smell Jargos and Layla, this set him at ease

Layla climbed up and the ice immediately cracked and dispersed after she grabbed on. Getting on deck, Layla sat on the chair next to where the ladder was held.

"Well, Layliana, you seemed to have taken quite a beating," Raiden laughed a little bit, remembering when Layla and her master sparred together.

"You can say I've been through enough to last me the evening." She laughed a bit. "Good to be alongside you again, Raiden. And, again, thank you for your aid in the Eastern Lands. I don't know what I would've done without you."

"My pleasure. Who are your friends? Must've been close to have the--"

"Yes, well, aside from what it was and why I used it, my friends here are Jargos, Kreig, and Luna. We travel together now, trying to find out why all of these creatures are rising."

Raiden took a moment to think. "For now, you and your friends get some rest. We'll arrive on the island in the morning.

Jargos knew better than to follow his curiosity and ask what they were talking about, if Layla thought he needed to know, she would tell him

Layla stretched a bit. "I know I owe you an explanation for some things. Raiden, like I've said before, was an aid after I lost my vision. He got me to the island of Nicca where my master, Raven, gave me the training I needed to fight again. Nicca has become a second home, and it's where most of my belongings are now. Sure, I left some things for Luna back in Zeiza, but there are some more important things left here for safe keeping. With Garlan targeted because of us sticking around, I thought it'd be best to get both Kreig and Luna off the coast and on an untouched island for now. Nicca is safe, at least, for now. We can rest on the island to regain our strength and to take anything with us that we can gain permission to take back with us. There's more I need to say, but Master Raven can better explain than I can. It's best we wait on much more detail until we get there."

Jargos nuzzled her like a big bear before sitting on the deck next to her cahir

Layla glanced at the moon, which was now high in the sky above them. It wouldn't be long before day came. She yawned, exhausted from the brawl and sailing. She felt a bit relaxed and took the time to get some rest.

Jargos laid back and soon fell asleep


Kreig did his best to pass out

Layla had quickly dosed off after the exhausting evening. Although she was sore, it didn't change how she slept. That, she was thankful for.

Jargos slept fitfully, and what little sleep Kreig got was plagued with horrid nightmares

The night went on and dawn soon came over the horizon. Nicca was now in view. Raiden dared not to wake up the new passengers.

Jargos awoke with more internal sounds than usual and a heavy dose of cracking joints. he yawned as the sunlight hit him



Kreig tried to get up, but for some reason, his body was too stiff to move. He could barely growl

Layla awoke to the waking sounds of Jargos. She slept well. Standing up to stretch, she said, "Morning."

"Morning" He said back as he finished



Kreig was trying to move, but nothing worked. Even with all his might, it was as if he were being held down by something. His growl became weaker

As Luna woke up that morning, she heard Kreig's faint growl. She jumped up in a hurry and quickly came over to him. "Kreig, you alright?" She was about to call Jargos and Layla.

Jargos looked around




Kreig was obviously putting out tons of effort, his whole body was tense and stiff, but he still couldn't move. He was half covered by the blanket, but the red glow from his runes was illuminating the room

Luna realized Kreig's struggle and pulled the blanket back. She immediately called for Jargos and Layla, being unsure as to what she could do.

(Sorry about falling asleep last night. I was watching a video while you were posting and fell asleep. -.-' )

Jargos heard the call and quickly made his way to the cabin where he saw Kreig glowing and Luna looking worried


Kreig seemed oblivious to the others in the room, his mind transfixed on forcing himself to move when he couldn't. His energy seemed drained and he could only breath shallow breaths

Layla quickly followed behind Jargos.

"Luna, what happened?"

"I woke up this morning and Kreig was like this. It's like he's stuck, or frozen, or..." Luna stopped there. It was obvious she was concerned. "I've never seen anything like this."

Kreig's mind was a whirlwind and Jargos saw something dark flash in his eyes. Jargos picked him up with one arm and turned him around. A shadowy thorn was sticking out of his back

"This must've stuck itself to him before he left the woods for Garlan last night. I wonder how we remove it" He pondered

Layla spoke up, "Well, I can attempt the same spell I used on you the first time, which was Aurora, but I don't know if it'll work since he isn't possessed. It's obvious that there's an intrusion in his body, but I don't know if it'll work the same way." Layla walked over to Kreig and definitely could sense an unknown force within him.

Jargos held him still for Layla

Layla nodded, signalling for Luna to step aside. "I'll try, but I'll make no promises except that I'll do what I can. That much I can promise to you both only."

Layla put both her hands a couple inches over Kreig's body and closed her eyes. She was tracing the power levels of the strange energy within him. When ready, she firmly stated, "Aurora." Her hands glowed a series of colors. She moved her hands until she found the thorn sticking in him. "I can feel a certain heat coming from it. Probably in reaction to my powers interfering."

Kreig roared out in a sound that could rival Jargos when Layla's magic came close to the thorn and his arms seemed to move slightly

"Alright, here's what we can do here." Layla kept her hands steady. "Either I can destroy the object while it's in Kreig's system and absorb it before it tampers with his body and powers, or I can try to remove it and keep it contained so it doesn't do more harm."

Kreig was unable to form speech, only growls and snarls, it was as if he here a caged animal who knew danger was coming

"I say destroy it" Jargos told Layla
