Layla recognized the voice. "The aged wolf?"

"Aye, tis I, and I know what they want. I told you both before. The crown. It's the most powerful magic channelling object in the whole world, and with it, their leader can rule all. They tried before, seven centuries ago they were a much larger group and had much more power, but now, their magic has grown and they feel the time is right"

"Then perhaps we should change destination to Garlan?"

"Nay, they are gathering in Darkwoods, head there and eliminate them, Garlan will stand no chance if they succeed in Darkwoods"


"That's true. We better hurry"

Layla nodded. "I'll follow you there if this is true."

Jargos nodded to her. It was almost midnight

After more walking, Layla was still wondering about one thing.

"Jargos, I still have one question for you. I still don't fully understand how you expelled the Dark Energy."

"I didn't expel it, I absorbed it and then used it. I pushed as much energy into you as your body could hold, forcing the dark energy to a place with some room, my own body. After that, I ran as fast as I could, using fire magic to make another mini-sun, fueling it with all the energy I could harness, which included the dark energy. I dropped the ball into the volcano and that was that

Layla gently smiled. "I suppose the fire power came to use after all. I'm glad you learned how to use it properly, because that same power will give you an advantage against the Dark Mages."

Jargos nodded. There was not much else to say on the matter

Layla continued on with Jargos. It was becoming very late in the night.

The moon shone brightly upon the two as they made their way. Soon, the hour became too late, and the recent stresses were too much for jargos to bear, he needed to rest

"Jargos, let us rest for the rest of the night. At noon we should depart. Both of us are exhausted."

"Yeah, alright" He found a good place and started digging the fire pit

Layla decided to head out to find food. "I'll see what I can find us."

"Alright" Jargos made the fire pit and found some wood for the cooking flame. He lit it just so he didn't have to later

After some time passed, Layla only succeeded and capturing a boar. Picking up some fruit from trees along the way, she headed back to came some time later.

When she arrived, Jargos was already out cold

Layla went ahead and prepared the food and cooked it. Eating her share, though a small one, she left the rest of the body for breakfast the next morning.

Jargos slept like a rock. It was clear he would need more recovery time, but they didn't have the time to spare

When the morning came, Layla awoke early but chose not to awaken Jargos.

Jargos slept until it was almost noon, but finally began to wake

The fire had been attended to once more as Jargos awakened. Layla had prepared it again. Hanging from a tree while upside down, careful to not let the skirt of her dress fall, she was eating an apple comfortably.
