Misunderstood Destinies (2)

Layla quickly followed. She sensed something strange. "Something doesn't feel right in the air."

"Yeah, it feels dark, like the air is charged with fear and hate" Jargos had a hard time keeping himself under control. He wanted to rage out and slaughter all the Dark mages, then take their destroyed bodies home as trophies

"Just remember what I told you last time, Jargos. If this is trouble, I don't want you to lose control." She meant it with kindness, but Layla was worried about if Jargos lost control of his powers.

"Yeah, keep a level head Jargos, keep it cool" He spoke to himself. He kept hunting, and soon, they spotted Dark mage relieving himself on a tree. He saw Layla and Jargos, then ran with his robe now being soiled. Jargos roared and bolted after him

Layla sighed and continued on in the chase. She tried to keep her cool to avoid causing her powers to surface while uncalled for.

The Dark mage shrieked as Jargos tackled him to the ground, then visibly had to restrain himself from tearing him apart before Layla could question him

Layla held her hand up, allowing her powers to come to her at will. "Jargos, release. I've got him under control." A white aura began to appear around Layla's hand and the mage.

He got up, then let her take control

The Mage tried to move without magical assistance, though it seemed impossible. Layla had him restrained. "Your identity. State it, creature. Your life lies in my hands, and I will use it to the advantage of ours if you do not give us proper information."

Jargos stood still

"I will give no such information to you children. Release me and I won't have to use force."

"I'm afraid I can't do that." Her hand tightened, as did the aura around the mage and thus began to suffocate him. The aura began to turn a black shade and then back to white. "He's fighting back," she stated. "I could feel it when the aura turned."

"Do you need more energy to use?"

"I've got more than enough to use. It's just the matter of his ability to fight back and the strength of my magic against his."

"I tell you, I'm not talking," the mage stated."

"Hm, how can I help?"

"I'm physically working at getting him to talk. If you attack him, it'll break the magic I'm using to contain him. You'll have to find another way." The black aura flashed once more. Layla did what she could to keep him contained for the time being.

Jargos grinned evilly, then made a ring of fire around them, then made it into a dome. It was an intimidation tactic

"The longer you keep me here, the longer you give me to summon more of my kind here." Layla grew slightly angry.

"Good, then I can kill every last one of them for the things they have done. Talk, and I'll consider letting you live."

"Why don't you just realize that my magic is stronger than yours and just let me go?"

"Because you've yet to give me reason to believe it. I struck down one of your people, Ramona, and still live to tell the tale. I don't think I have reason to fear you."

Jargos kept up the flaming dome

"He's not going to crack. If he's telling the truth, we could be in trouble. And if he isn't, then we may be taking the risk of not finishing him now and letting him attack your home." The black aura began to flash once more. He was fighing back the more Layla held him. "His resistance magic is powered by his anger. I can sense it."

"Let your barrier down . . . He's expendable, We know enough" Jargos was bluffing about knowing enough, but did want her to let her barrier down.


"What's the matter, creature, too animalistic to talk like a human?!"

The comment to Jargos only increased her anger towards the Mage. "Shut it. Now. I'm warning you once and I won't again." As her hand became closer to a fist, the aura began to suffocate him again and harder this time.

Jargos put a hand on Layla's shoulder

"Don't worry about it, just kill him"

Layla kept her hand where it was. She wanted information. "I'm giving you one last chance to talk."

Jargos nodded to her, and let her do things her way

Layla knew if she let her emotion get to the best of her, she'd kill him without a second thought about it. The aura flashed back to black again and stayed for a moment until Layla could gain back control. "I don't understand what he's doing. It's like... It's like he's trying to take control of the force-field."
