Eight and Beyond!

"Well, after a nap, we still have badges to earn" He told her as he led her to the elevator, he smiled

Claire smiled. Before they left, Officer Jenny of Saffron walked over to them.

"Hold it, kiddos. You need these. Upon defeating Giovanni you also defeated his gym which was originally in Viridian City. He's going to be locked up for a while. Take the badges and get going. We have some city repair work to do."

JayJay smiled, and accepted his badge

Claire accepted and the two headed off.

A few weeks later in Pallet town . . .



JayJay awoke under the tree and got up to stretch. He was feeling great. He now he three large scars on his upper body, but they didn't bother him. He wasn't wearing a shirt, but did have on his jeans, and on his belt were six Pokeballs. He yawned loudly

Claire was relaxing in a lounge chair outside, the sun shining down on the two. It had been some time since they had any danger come their way. They were heroes of Kanto and were recognized everywhere they went on the way to Pallet. However, it was getting colder outside. Nights were longer than the days. She had been saving up enough money to buy a new suit when they got to a large city.

JayJay waved to Claire, then called out his team, which now included a Heracross and Snorlax. It was a three v three scrimmage, Typholsion's team against Venusaur's team

Claire smiled. "Training, training, training. Guy, you need a break sometimes." She laughed.

"I had a break, I was stuck in bed for a week. And you volunteered to be my nurse maid" He laughed a bit, the got to working out while his Pokemon trained

"And that was because you needed to rest. You took a heavy wound and you needed to recover. If you had your way, you'd be climbing Mount Moon."

He laughed a bit more. He was happy they were safe. He was happy he had recovered so well. Things were looking up. They still had four badges to collect in Kanto before they could take on the Elites and the Champion

"With Team Rocket out of the way, it'll be smooth sailing from here. It's not too late to keep going, even if they stopped us from proceeding." Claire picked up a guitar next to her and laid against the chair and tuned it to a lower note.

JayJay had a plan to match Claire's strums with his own drumming on the ground

Claire started strumming "Never Too Late," a song she heard on the radio one day. It was the acoustic version she listened to. Playing by ear, she relaxed to the tune.

(OOC: Fact- I cannot play by ear. XD)

JayJay recognized the song and started a drumbeat with his movements

Claire sung the song to herself, remembering part of the lyrics.

JayJay kept in motion, but didn't sing, he didn't know how, or the lyrics

Claire looped the song, seeing as the tune was so catchy. Her hands eventually were sore and she was forced to stop. The song was complicated to play, but she started trying to make up a tune to just play to pass the time.

After a while, JayJay and his Pokemon were tired. He recalled them and wen to sit next to Claire. It was just starting to get dark

Claire glanced out at the stars that were beginning to appear. "So, where do we go from here?"

"Well, we have four badges, so we need to get the other four, then challenge the Indigo Plateau. After that, I'm not sure. You told me once you wanted to challenge the Grand Festival , where is that?"

"I heard once it was at the Indigo Plateau, but I doubt I'll for it. Just not too into it now that we've been through the mess with Team Rocket."

"Oh? Well, what do you want to do?" He inquired

"I have some loose ends to tie up back home. You head on to the next city that has a gym. I'll meet you there when I get done."

"Alright, I'll head to Saffron then" JayJay told her. "Is everything okay?"
