Eight and Beyond!

Claire, suddenly enraged, ran as quickly as she could and hit Giovanni to the ground. She grabbed the dagger from Jay's belt, not wanting to further open the wound in his chest. Claire jumped on top of Giovanni and tried to hold him down. "Give me one excuse, one good reason, why I shouldn't kill you right here and now." She was too angry to hold back, though she tried as hard as she could. "You may be stronger than me, you may be tougher than me, but you sure-as-he** aren't more caring than me."

JayJay coughed up blood, the knife had gotten a lung. He slowly got up, like Frankenstien's monster. He growled as he walked over to Claire and Giovanni, the knife still in his chest

Claire calmed down slightly. She closed her eyes and looked away. She couldn't do it. Claire stood up and turned around, throwing the blade down and narrowly missing his head. The blade stood upright next to his ear. "I can't do it. As much as he deserves it." Claire pulled a piece of cloth from her belt and gently pressed it against Jay's chest to stop the bleeding. "We need to get out of here."

"One . . . More . . . Thing . . ." He coughed more, a steady stream of blood from his mouth as him Pokemon stood behind him. He made his way past Claire and picked Giovanni up with his right arm, using his left hand to pull out the blade. He growled in pain then held the blade out for Claire to take. "I want . . . To keep . . . That knife" He was still holding Giovanni up

Claire took it. "JayJay, you're too weak. Let me call Nurse Joy and she can help you. You need to lie down. Giovanni can wait. You can't."

"This can't . . ." JayJay's left fist came flying into Giovanni's jaw, sending him flying back into an AC unit on the roof. As his fist impacted, blood shot out of his wound, and some even came from his nose. His Pokemon roared out as he hit a knee.

Claire realized that he was far too hurt to take down to the central park area. She summoned her Pidgeot to bring Nurse Joy and any gym leader that had knowledge in the medical department. The Pokemon soon did so.

JayJay rolled over and recalled his Pokemon. He was bleeding bad, but it was worth it.

"Nurse Joy, all of you, do as best as you can. I'm going to go get his brother."

Nurse Joy and Misty were bandaging his wound as JayJay passed out from lose of blood, a smile on his face

Claire soon returned with Hans. "--and Giovanni landed a heavy blow to him. I threw him off, but even I'm unsure as to how much damage it had done."

Hans looked down at his brother and sighed, then looked at Claire.

"He'll be fine, he's had worse" He said

"I wanted to protect him, someway, somehow." Claire saw a figure crawling up onto a box. "Oh, no you don't." Claire kept the blade firm at her belt and walked over to Giovanni. She stood over him. "I believe we have terms to settle. You're coming with me." Claire put a hand up to Hans, signalling she would handle him.

"Don't worry, the numbskull can handle himself. He was trying to protect you." Hans told her before she saw Giovanni. He laughed and nodded, then saw JayJay get up, once more, like the Frankenstien monster

Claire drug Giovanni over on her back. "You, mister," Claire said to Jay, "are going to rest." She giggled.

JayJay chuckled, then took Giovanni from Claire, handed him to hans and then pulled Claire in for a hug. They had succeeded, against the odds, against the most powerful criminals in Kanto and Johto. He was lighted headed, but he would live. He held Claire tightly

Claire smiled. She was happy that Jay was safe and that all would finally settle down again. "I have one more thing to do. Hans, hand over Giovanni. I think he might actually have something good to say to all of us."

JayJay broke the hug as Hans handed over Giovanni

Claire took him to the edge of the roof, though careful not to step over the small blocks that protected them from falling off.

"Everyone, I think a certain someone has something to say." Claire nodded to JayJay, signalling to keep on the lookout for any incoming grunts.

JayJay kept his eyes peeled

"Now, Giovanni, don't you have something to say to all the people watching? I'm sure the news reporters are getting this somewhere."

He grumbled.

"What was that?"

"Fine! In the name of the Team Rocket corporations, I hereby hand the land of Kanto back to the Indigo League and Plateau!"

"And?"

"And I'll return the Pokemon to their trainers."

"And?"

"And free the captured members in the cells."

"And?"

"AND leave Kanto alone! There, you happy?" Claire smiled.

"You getting this, Shade?" she said, watching him fly around on his Fearow with a camera.

"Oh yeah. This is going live. Anything you want to say, Claire? JayJay?"

Claire looked at JayJay and back to the camera. She handed Giovanni to the police. She walked over to JayJay. "I think you deserve spotlight just as much as I do. Go ahead. Step up there."

"'Nah, this was all you. I was just a cheerleader." JayJay said. That was how it was in his eyes, plus he had horrible stage fright

Claire pulled him up there with her. "Then we'll stand up here together."

She glanced up at Shade who gave her a thumbs up. They were still live.

"After battle to battle and more battle, and the combined power of a simple duo, have reclaimed Kanto for the leaders and to the people to live here." The gym leaders of Kanto all joined together on flying Pokemon and took to the skies in joy.

JayJay held Claire's hand and then rose it up in the winner's pose with his. He tried to smile for the camera, but couldn't manage it, he was too scared

Claire giggled. "You nut." She hugged him. "So, being heroes of Kanto, what can we even do from here? You obviously need some time to recover." She winked. It was about time they got a bit of a stress-free break.
