Eight and Beyond!

JayJay looked at the small Pokemon and smiled a bit. He patted Claire on the back gently

Claire almost felt like a mother with the way she held the Pokemon. She giggled when it started making mewing sounds again.

"Alright, hold on, little one. You'll get food shortly."

Nurse Joy came their way, holding a tiny bottle of milk. "Small enough even for an Eevee to hold it." She gave the small bottle to the Eevee. He took it into his paws and started sucking the liquid from it.

JayJay smiled and kissed Claire's cheek before headed to the couch in the other room to try and sleep

"Claire, I'll watch over your Eevee while you sleep tonight." Claire nodded and gave her Eevee to Nurse Joy. She smiled and went back to the guest room to rest.

JayJay rested on the couch, but couldn't quite fall asleep

Claire had realized she was tired from the excitement of the day. She slightly closed the curtains, allowing just a bit of light to come through and reflect off the wall, then fell asleep in bed.

JayJay was just in a bit of a daze. He wasn't awake, but he wasn't quite asleep. He tried to move, but his body felt too weak

Claire suddenly heard a brief knock at her window. A letter sat on the windowsill. She opened the window and took the letter.

"Claire,
I'm afraid to warn you that Team Rocket is preparing for a raid on Pallet Town. They tracked you last night during flight, and they're sure that you all are there. You must move quickly! Whether it's drawing attention or fighting, it doesn't matter. They're trying to claim Pallet within the next day or so. Rest tonight, for it may be the last one you have for a while.
Shade."

JayJay awoke to hearing the knock, though he had no idea where it came from. He shook off his stupor and arose. He popped his joints to speed up in adrenaline and looked around, looking for the source of the knock

Claire immediately hurried to JayJay. "We've got problems. Team Rocket is heading this way." She showed him a map. "They must've tracked me here earlier. Shade sent me a letter. Arrival time is expected in a day or so. You, Professor Oak, and Nurse Joy need to pack up some essentials and be ready to move by morning. We're all in danger the longer we stay here."

JayJay frowned, then went to wake the Professor.

Claire tried to figure out where there was a safe place for the three. She could stall the incoming groups long enough for them to get off of the land, but it was the matter of finding a safe place to hide. The only place that seemed out of Team Rocket's reach for now would be Cinnabar. There wasn't much there anymore as a town, but the Pokemon Center was still there.

"You all will be setting course for Cinnabar. As of right now, it looks like Team Rocket has seen no reason to claim it due to the volcano on the island ruining the land. However, the Pokemon Center there still remains and the volcano is now dormant. It'll be the perfect hiding spot for now."

"No, we head to New Bark" JayJay didn't discuss the matter further. He woke Professor Oak and then Nurse Joy. He told them the situation and the three started packing. He made it back to Claire, his jaw was set and his eyes were icy.

Claire realized her statement had intended for them to leave and her to stay. "Someone's got to keep this town safe. If Pallet is claimed, we won't have a place to come back to. I doubt they're sending out a large party, but it's something worth noticing."

"WE head to New Bark. I have a plan. We stick together." JayJay was ready, he didn't have anything to pack other than his bag, which was already ready

Claire's bag was ready to go with the help of Nurse Joy. She handed Claire her Eevee.

"He's squirming. He'll settle down if you carry him. I'll take your bag." Nurse Joy picked up her Trainer's Bag and put her cloak in it.

Claire watched the little Pokemon nudge into her chest while inside the blanket. "I wish I could show him to Gabrielle. I don't even know where Mother and her are. When Vermilion was claimed, I have no idea where they went if they were able to flee." She fought to avoid tears running down her face. "If they even touched either one of them, I'll come back to Vermilion and reclaim it myself to hang each and everyone of them by my own hands..."

JayJay put a hand on Claire's shoulder. He couldn't look directly at her, he was afraid to scare her with his gaze.

"We won't be gone long. We will free Kanto." He assured her, then lead them all outside. He got out his PokeGear and made a call. A man answered with a rumbling deep voice.


"Hello?" The voice called from the Pokegear

"Dad? It's JayJay"

"JayJay! Oh, my boy, you've had your mother and I worried, son. It's good to hear your voice. I was just working out with the Pokemon before bed. What can I do for you?"

"Dad, we need a flight, are Dragonite and Salamance up?"

They all heard the two dragon Pokemon roaring into the PokeGear to answer JayJay

"Yeah, hahahaha, they're up alright. Where are you, son, they'll be there in a heart beat"

"Pallet town. We need out of here ASAP"

"You heard him, go boys go!" His father hung up the phone and JayJay put his PokeGear away. He waited

Claire looked up at the sky, secretly wishing on a star. She pleaded that her family was safe. "I swear I'll reclaim Vermilion one way or another. Anyone who tries to stop me will feel my pain. They can threaten with their blades, guns, and arrows, whatever they're using. Whatever they use against me, I'll use with my own hands twice as hard against them."

JayJay nodded to Claire, then heard the wing beats. He grinned as two dots cam into view. Soon those two dots began taking shape, and soon it was obvious a Salamence and Dragonite were on their way at full speed

Claire heard several roaring voices coming from the distance. "Everyone, hop on!" she called out. She was looking out for Team Rocket.

Dragonite landed first and Salamence shortly after. JayJay helped Claire onto the Dragonite and hopped on behind her. Professor Oak and Nurse Joy hopped on Salamence and the two Pokemon launched off into the night sky. JayJay looked, and grinned when he saw no Team Rocket forces were on Route 1. just to be sure, he made the two Pokemon head south first, then head back north west for New Bark Town

Claire held her Eevee against her, then took a final glance back at Kanto. She sighed. "I would've rather stayed back and fight," she said. "But, even I know I wouldn't last long out there."

"We wont be gone long. Don't worry, we will save Kanto" JayJay assured her. After a very short flight, The two dragons landed in New Bark Town next to JayJay's Fathers small army of Pokemon, JayJay's father, and JayJay's mother. JayJay's father was a giant of a man in a white t-shirt and blue shorts. His mother was a tiny little woman, wearing a pink night gown.

Claire hopped off the Pokemon and assisted Nurse Joy and Professor Oak in the dismount. Claire didn't exactly like the idea of being in a whole new region, but, then again, she had no choice if she didn't want to end up trapped at Rocket HQ.

JayJay thanked his father's Pokemon and dismounted, then hugged his parents. Professor Elm walked outside to greet everyone as well. JayJay walked his parents over to meet Claire


"Mom, dad, this is Claire. My best friend. She saved my life and the lives of my Pokemon more than once." JayJay siad


"Thank you so much for looking out for our JayJay, we couldn't stand to lose him." JayJay's mother spoke with a soft voice.
