| Meanwhile, Cathain glanced back into a mirror. The scar that was left was the mark of XANA. She didn't dare mention it to Shannon or Ryou. They had not seen it, which she was thankful for. Seeing as it was getting dark outside, she used what make-up she had and covered up the scar, then went to bed for the evening. | |

| Shannon soon caught up to Cathain, who was sitting against a wall in the core room of the Factory. The power-panel was opened. "You considered it, didn't you? Cathain, you know it's suicide."
"I don't even know if I care. He treats me like I'm his enemy now. Frankly, I want all this bull sh** over."
"Suicide isn't the answer."
"I know it's not, but if it means stopping XANA then it is the answer."
"I won't let you take someone's life just to give up yours. We'll find a way."
"I don't want to deal with Ryou right now."
"Then don't. I'll deal with him. But, would you mind if...?"
"Go ahead, but make sure Ryou isn't here first."
"He didn't follow."
Cathain pulled her hair back as Shannon sat behind her. "I get why you didn't want Ryou to see. Even with the make-up, you can still feel the marking."
"XANA wanted every way possible to stay alive. I don't even think Ryou would care if the computer was shut down. It's not like I'm leaving anything behind."
"You still have me."
"Which is strange, because I never expected you to follow."
"I'm not going to leave you here to die. Not by XANA or Ryou's hands."

| "Oh, since when did Cathy get here" Ryou asked, bewildered. He brought the core to the switch as he spoke, "Network admin override, Ryou, Code Lyoko, Lyoko core analysis." He took the core as he began to run a scan on it after placing it in the scanner. "Whatever that thing is, it has the same aura I feel from Cathy's marking. If I can get some data off it by putting it in the scanner, I might be able to figure out an antivirus to this mess."
