"And this is the main power room. This is the core of the Super-Computer's power. This is what we have to avoid having shut down. If the police, Men in Black, a teacher, or any other student come here, this is what they're most likely looking for. Law enforcement could have us arrested if they found us out."

"We'll show you that when you're ready. XANA has already attacked for the day. On his next attack, meet us here. I'll call you."
Shannon nodded. "So, now the question is, how are you going to give your speech tomorrow? Cathain, I know you're weak. What's wrong?"
Cathain sighed. "The Scyphozoa. It's what drains out memories or other material from our virtual selves. The last attack was more than I could handle."

"I have a speech to write, and one more day to do it. I can't just sit down and--" Cathain staggered a bit. Shannon came behind her. Cathain sat down against the room wall.
"This is more than the Scyphozoa. It has to be, Cathain."
"There's nothing else that could've done this.

The two nodded as Ryou left.
"What has the Scyphozoa been after?"
"Lately, my digital key. The one thing that keeps me able to return to the real world."
"How much does he have of it?"
"Over half. But, the attacks are becoming more constant. I can't keep taking on the Scyphozoa. It's too much to bear in a short period of time."
"Why can't you just stop going on Lyoko?"
"I'm the only one that can do it since Ryou doesn't. Besides, so far, I'm the only one that can retrieve information from the tower. You have to be able to access the upper floor. Only one person is permitted that."
"Is there any way to just stop the Scyphozoa in general?"
"It is XANA. Just a generated monster. If XANA really wanted to finish me off, he could've done it by now. He's had many opportunities. It's only a matter of time before he gets it all."
"Cathain..."
"I'll be fine. You need to be watching your back."
"You need to go see Yolanda."
"Even if that is true, what am I going to tell her? I got attacked by a virtual beast?"
"That you need help."
"I'm not risking the Factory being found out."
"I don't want you risking your life like this. Just to protect Ryou and me."
"I don't have a family. I'm protecting friends."
"The more you keep going back to Lyoko, the more the Scyphozoa will be waiting. One of these days, it's going to put you in the hospital."
"The only way that could happen is if someone shut down the computer. "
"Or if you get too weak."
"Sha--"
"Cathain, you're not going to be able to give your speech tomorrow. I know it. You're not in any shape to do it. If you want, I can call Mrs. Hertz and tell her."
"You wouldn't--"
"For you, I would."
"I'll give the speech."
Shannon put her hand over Cathain's. "But not if you're not strong enough."

"I can't just give up the speech."
"What if you collapse tomorrow? If Yolanda saw you now, she'd send you to the hospital."
"Shannon, listen to me. I can't give this up. This is my chance!"
"To do what, O'Connor? Get yourself killed?"

Ryou couldn't sleep as he overheard Shannon telepathically. He laughed to himself.

Cathain stood up, though struggling.
"Fine. Have it your way. I'll give up on my speech. I won't attend the meeting. I'll do all of that if it'll make you happy. I thought I'd come all this way for something. Well, apparently, it was just my rotten luck yet again." Cathain left the room, not exactly sure of where she'd go but hoping to just get away from Shannon.

Ryou put a hand on Cathy's shoulder as she turned around. Nobody was there. Her headache felt suddenly lighter. Ryou stood behind the corner as he smiled. He thought, "Looks like the data injection works outside of Lyoko too. That was the most data I could recover back from Xana. That leaves 25% left for you to recover."

Cathain still wasn't one of the happiest people. Lyoko was the last thing on her mind. The school was second to last.

Ryou saw Shannon coming after Cathy as he quickly ran to the closest door he could find before she would spot him. He looked around. "Boys bathroom, safe from Shannon." He thought, sighing out of relief.

Cathain didn't turn around, wishing not to face Shannon. "I'm not in the mood to deal with you."
"I'm trying to protect you."
"I haven't needed it before. I don't need it now."

Ryou spoke to Cathy telepathically. "This is your conscience speaking." Ryou spoke in a different voice, miserably failing, but trying his best. Cathy almost facepalmed randomly.
