She headed off to the tower, dodging attacks that came her way.

"If you need backup, I can come visit. Anyway, if you get damaged too much, or basically lose all your health points, you'll be immediately rematerialized back here. Hit the digital background, which looks like a sea on your side, and you will rematerialize. The sea seems to be a firewall protecting the underground network, which hasn't been touched yet by Xana. There's 5 sectors, with one being locked with a password. The other four are accessible by directly virtualizing into the sector or by entering a certain tower and falling to reach the other tower that it is connected to in a different sector. The nodes, or towers, are all connected."

"According to a file that was locked in the computer, the underground area is called the 'Digital Sea.' And if you land there, you're done. You're not rematerialized. That's it. Gone. But, I'm not stupid enough to try it myself."
As she came to the tower, Cathain spotted a new enemy. "I thought jellyfish belonged in water. Not a mountain region."

"Crap, I got a warning on my laptop! It says it's an absorber type virus. If it touches you, it absorbs your data. I assume it will try to infect your memory, steal them, and possess you. Get rid of it quickly."

Cathain backed away, not sure of the enemy's full abilities. With a blade in hand, she slashed at it's tentacles as it neared her. Running back, enemies began to virtualize. As a laser hit her arm, her sword fell to the ground.
Anger and pain built inside of her. "That's enough!" An orb formed around her hand. Thrusting her fist outward, a force field formed around her.

"No, they're my prey."
Picking up her blade, Cathain attacked each of the enemies, destroying all but the Scyphozoa. "This thing just can't be killed," she said as it retreated. She headed into the tower while all was clear.

"I'm coming into Lyoko. I just found out that the jellyfish, or Scyphozoa, had important information to Xana's plans."

Cathain stayed in the tower and headed to the upper platform. A screen came up.
It read,
"Cathain.
Code: Lyoko"

"Tower deactivated, Ryou."

Ryou stepped out of the scanner as he confirmed his scan on his laptop. "I registered myself onto Lyoko. it seems that I'm too late, then. I'm launching the time reset sequence. The day will start over back before the tower was infected. Only you and I will remember anything, since we are both registered on Lyoko."

"'Return to the past' sequence go!" Ryou yelled. A sudden light escaped from the Lyoko network hologram as everything was drowned into brightness. Ryou opened his eyes. He was outside the class door with Cathy at the time they were about to go on a tour.

Cathain was propped against a wall. "Well, I was hoping to stick around in Lyoko longer."

"No, it didn't. I've met him before in Lyoko, but I don't know if he targeted me. That day is a bit fuzzy. I didn't want to say anything, but on one of my first couple of trips I gained information out of the tower that apparently XANA didn't want me to have. When I came out of the tower, creatures came left and right. The rest I don't know about. Next thing I can remember, I went to shut down the computer. I felt some sort of pain and right before I blacked out, I was able to get the system back running. I say it's coincidence."

"I see, so you've been linked to Lyoko. The information you gathered had a trap and it linked your body to Lyoko. If Lyoko dies, you die. I can prepare the unlink solution, but I need to first gain root access to Lyoko."

"If we're caught leaving campus before class is over, we're going to be in some trouble. Shoot, I doubt I'd want to risk losing the connection to the council. Took me forever to gain the favor of the school Administration. That's what you get for not having a family to come to the orientation."

"Yeah, your connection can become useful. I could try to access Lyoko on my laptop. I set up a secure remote connection. If I gain root access, I'll be able to cut off the connection between you and Lyoko. All you have to do is be devirutalized during that time. Xana could attack any time, so it's risky. You can't be virutalized often, either. There's a time lock on that, which I may be able to break."

"What I want to find out is what XANA truly wants. I mean, all I had done was enter a tower to find information. He set up a trap for it."

"Well, he for some reason wanted me at my school. I thought it was because I was trying to attack him, and he reacted out of self-defense. But he was after this." Ryou replied as he took out a key with an L engraved onto it. "I finally made the connection. Try to guess what the 'L' stands for."

"Probably. What do you think this key unlocks, considering that Xana went through injuring my classmates, which lead to my expulsion, just to get this key?"

"We'd have to take it to Lyoko. Considering I've got access to the inner towers, it'd be best if I go. I can check the database and see if anything is there. I'll need you at the computer if something goes wrong."

"Anyone can access the inner towers. It's just you who can access the root controls. Well, you can access root, but only tower-wise. I need root access to the network itself. I'll be on the computer. If you need anything, just say it. You're connected to the private Lyoko channel, so we can communicate securely, without any interception by Xana of what we're saying. Also note that others around us can hear us, but nobody in between can. I'll virtualize myself if you go down. Otherwise, it's up to us, the Lyoko Warriors. You want to go now?"

Cathain nodded. Suddenly, Jim entered the hallway.
"You two! What are you doing out of class? If I don't get a good explanation, I'm taking you both to Principal Delmas!"
"Sir, I do apologize for causing such a fuss, but Mrs. Hertz has asked me to escort Ryou, our new student, around the school for a tour. As Class Representative and one of the Student Advisers of the School Council, I was asked personally by Mr. Delmas this morning to complete this assignment."
"Er, very well. Continue on."
Jim walked away with no other questions asked.
