Cathain sighed. She figured he meant class. Since Mrs. Hertz wasn't busy this period so she went for a visit to catch up on some work.

"I need to go see her anyway. I want to get tomorrow's work in advance. I've got a lead, and I want to follow it. If I can get everything done tonight, I'll have tomorrow completely free."

Mrs. Hertz handed Cathain a bag upon the request of the work.
"You've been given a random set of ingredients that will make a special mixture. It'll be up to you to identify what that is. You're one of the few I'd trust with this mix. Some of my old students would probably get creative."
"Thanks."

Cathian left the classroom and dropped the assignment back to her dorm.

"Unless it has to do with Lyoko, I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm serious, Drazard. I don't know." Cathain often used last names when she was serious. She preferred professionalism, but she did have a couple friends she more often used first names.

"Let's start from the beginning. The scyphozoa stole your digital key. An encrypted version was copied at 40% and decompiled to data. The raw data has been embedded into the monsters, allowing them to materialize into the real world. Since they had your digital key, they gave off a weak presence that resembled yours. We don't see people through our five senses first. We see them by their aura. Their aura gets converted into something our five senses pick up. This instant conversion isn't applicable for Xana's monsters. They can find us through matching our body make-up to our IDs on Lyoko. Nobody sees them as monsters. Since your key was copied at 40%, they give off a weak presence that resembles yours."

"I can't help the fact that he's got it. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm trying to get a few answers, maybe if I had seen it coming, I would've stopped it. It was either the Scyphozoa, or the digital sea. I'm the only one that can deactivate the towers at the moment. If you would've listened to me sooner, we could've had the scanners deactivated. If it sticks me on Lyoko, then fine. I can live with that. I've got nowhere else to call a home, and Lyoko is the closest thing to it. But, you know what? If XANA wants the code, the key, whatever, he can come and get it. He hasn't gotten me dead yet, and from where I'm standing he won't. I told you it's too much of a risk having the scanners able to be accessible. There are towers, there are other sectors, there is other data I can find if XANA would give me a breather every now and again. I sat up on Lyoko all night last night hunting down information that we'll only get through a tower or a database. And you know what? There's more. Much more. And it could be what we need. But we won't know until we can get XANA off guard or some sort of advantage."

"It's not going to matter. XANA will find his way. If you haven't understood that already, then you really don't get it." Cathain straightened her jacket. "This afternoon, when class is over, I'm going to the Hermitage and I'm going alone. And if I find what I need, I'm following the coordinates again and seeing what this is all about. I want answers. Not dead trails. We had a close call yesterday. This time, that won't be the case if I have anything to say about it." Cathain went back to her dorm, locking her door behind her. She hid a couple of things in her inner jacket pocket for safe keeping. Cathain skipped lunch period next and continued on to class.

Cathain spend part of her time focusing on the classroom notes, but most of it was for the lab project. The project was due in a couple of weeks, though.

Class soon ended, as did the day. After school, Cathain headed down to the Hermitage. The door was left unlocked, in which she locked behind her. Bringing a pair of gloves to prevent damaging anything, she investigated.
