Zelda nodded. She formed a portal to return back to Maya and Heron, then closed it as she passed through. "Maya, Heron, are you there?"
"We're here. What's up?" Heron asked.
"A war. That's what."
"Between who?"
"Mortals and Spirits. I need yours and Maya's help. I'm sure that a full-fledge, all out, battle is going to occur when we get the groups together and split. I'll need some back-up if that occurs."

Alan yelled, "WORK, dam*it!" The computer turned on as a command prompt opened up. Alan wrote in the password as the program ran. "About time." "Infinitus has been successfully tested. Infinitus upgraded to V. 3."

"What are you planning to do?" Heron asked.
"Step into the war, and stop both sides. It won't be too hard with the right help. But, there's still a risk. I'll tell you what'll be going down when it's time."

Alan suddenly appeared behind Zelda, "We got the patch update early."

"Alright. Great. We don't have to set out until later tomorrow night. It's late enough as it is, and we all need some sleep. Including you."

Zelda watched as everyone went to their rooms. When we went into hers, she started drawing up some plans for the next day to have them handy when needed.

Alan went to his room as he soon fell asleep on his bed, the clock reading that it was midnight already.

When Zelda finally gave herself a break, she fell asleep quickly in her room. She felt confident about the next day, but unsure of how things would work out.

Heron, who had remained awake that night for merely a short time, heard something outside his door. Something that sounded similar to a scream, but, muffled. As he went out into the hall, a sound came from Maya's room. When he entered, he saw nothing. Maya had woken up, from a nightmare that Heron had assumed. However, when he glanced at her face, it was a terrified expression. He walked up to her, and he could tell that something had terrified her immensely. Heron could sense something had happened. He felt a sudden sharp pain. As if something had been broken.
"Maya, can you hear me? Maya?"
"I... I can't control it. It's trying... to break through."
"Who is? Break through what?"
"Beings... and The Gate. I can't control my powers..."
"You mean someone is trying to frighten you? To get your powers weakened to open the gate?"
Maya nodded, unable to speak in an attempt to calm down. With all the energy entering the room, Heron could already sense that spirits were attempting to tear through her. As if the seal that had been placed was starting to break and spirits had found that slight opening.
"Alan, Zelda, wake up! We've got a Code Red going on!" Heron yelled, loud enough for them both to hear. Zelda quickly came, with Alan right behind.

Alan's eyes glowed red as he followed Zelda.

"What's going on?" Zelda asked.
"Something attacked Maya. And whatever it was, it made an opening for others to come through to her. She says she can't control her powers any longer, which could give me the feeling that someone broke the seal and is trying to open the Gate if they haven't already. I know her emotions are connected to her powers," Heron replied.
"And her powers are off the charts. I couldn't even suppress that even if I tried. Something would've had to have really messed with her for that to happen. She's blocking me."
"I don't know what it was, but, someone has to calm her down quickly. Any ideas?"
Maya was sitting on her bed, trying to ignore all the voices she could hear tearing through her. It wasn't just the group she could hear. It was dozens of others.

"We have to calm her down. It's impossible for her to control them until she calms down. That I know," Heron stated.

"Let me give it a shot," Zelda replied. "Alan, seal off the room just in case if any spirit does break through her. Alright? If we seal off the room, then they can't escape and we can take them as they come until Maya can force them back."

Alan sealed the room from the enemies. "Alright, the barrier is set up, Zelda."

Zelda sat on the bed, sitting in front of Maya and holding her hands.
"Maya, listen to me. What you're hearing is spirits. I'm sure you know that. Somehow, along the way, they found some sort of connection to you. Possibly, they found a pathway to you on the Bridge of Realms. When the Gate is closed, they cannot cross it to invade other realms. Only those with pure hearts can cross it. The dark heart ones must find their own manners of transport. From what I can tell, when they connected to you, they frightened you to toy with your emotions. Your emotions, like mine, are connected to your powers. If you are unstable, you are unable to use your powers. Thus, the Gate was opened. You have to close the Gate--"
"I.. I can't. I can't control it... They won't stop the voices... Telling me to open their way."
"Don't listen to them. You have a special ability as the Gate. Almost empathic. When someone is on the bridge, you can tell if they are pure or dark at heart. If the power and amount is large enough, you can feel it. I know what it's like to feel that kind of power. It's terrifying. But, listen to me, hold my hands. I'm able to help you control your powers if they become any more unable to even usages of it mentally and out of your control. "
Maya nodded. As Zelda focused on her powers, she could feel the emotion that Maya was able to feel.

"Something is out there. She has to close it off before it passes through. If, whatever it is, gets through the Gate, we might be in some trouble."

"Shall I pull an Alan for old time's sake, or do you want to take care of this yourself?"

"Just find the Gate and see what's there. Hold it off. And if it starts to transport to attack Maya, attack it. Don't kill it. Heron, go with him. We need someone to see what's going on while I handle things here."
