Just another day in the Apocalypse

Cyrus watches Keith attack madly, though he could see the man was injured. "Keith! Return to the house and seek out Joey! You're injured!" he calls out so Keith can hear.

Keith crushed one more before falling back. He dashed back to the house, but stopped at the jeep. He pulled his backpack out and got inside. He made his way to a table, his body shaking violently. He trashed through his bag and pulled out two syringes of epinephrine. The contents of his bag spilled out, which included six more packs of patches and dozens of adrenaline shots, as well as other mysterious supplies. He stuck a needle into his thigh and tried to stick the other into his heart, but his hand was shaking too much. Matt tossed Cyrus a high power rifle and an extra mag. "Let's move!" He shouted as he darted back to the horde

Cyrus takes the gun and mag, hurrying on into the crowd. He's nearly thrust down several times, narrowly managing an escape. He shoots as much as he can until finally it seems like the numbers are dying down just a bit.

Keith passes out, the syringe in his hand. Sasha sees keith and calls out for help. Marc comes into the room and kneels by Keith. He sees all the contents of Keith's bag, and in the confusion he takes a pack of patches and a syringe marked "Serum Venom", then pretends to help Keith

Dare and Joey hurry down stairs at the sound of Sasha calling for help. Dare sees Marc and says, "What do you think you're doing?" she asks. Joey yells for Cyrus to hurry in, as Cyrus has more medical experience than both Dare and Joey.

"Trying to stop the bleeding, he's been shot!" Marc shouted defensively, expertly hiding the things he stole. Matt and Cyrus took out the the last of them and then ran inside to see what was going on. Matt rushed to comfort Sasha.

Seeing Keith injured, Cyrus immediately attended to his wounds. "He was pretty lucky. That bullet exited out his body, so he won't need any kind of removal, but he's going to be sore once I get some bandages on him."

Keith was clutching the second adrenaline shot, and the first was still sticking out of his thigh. His heart was skyrocketing, but the rush of blood was keeping him alive and helping him heal. Cyrus knew exactly what he was doing and saying, lucky for Keith. Marc seemed to vanish from the room to examine his stolen goods. Matt and Sasha watched

Cyrus moves the other syringe to Keith's chest. "Easy, Keith. Easy. Take a few breaths. You've got too much of this in you."

Keith coughs up more blood, but nods to Cyrus, he clearly knew a lot more than Keith. Keith passes back out, but still breathing quickly

Cyrus retrieves medicine from a room over, a depressant of sorts, to calm Keith's body down. He doesn't want to move Keith from position, but gently moves him over to a couch to lay and rest his body.

Matt and Sasha go out to the cars to get the supplies they'll need for the night. Marc seems to hide. Keith goes out like a light

Dare and Joey go back upstairs to work on the project and Cyrus keeps watch over the house.

A blinking light on Joey's computer greets them, a breakthrough in the cure.


Marc goes outside and strolls around. He finds the horde of bodies and notices immediately that one was a cop with his police radio still on him. An evil grin crosses his face as he takes the radio. He uses the radio to call out to any authorities his location and the location of Dare Tallen.

Dare grins. "It's not much, but it's a start. It'll be a slow pace to getting the cure again, and it'll take time, but this time I won't make the same mistake. This time we'll be ready."

Joey nods. "If the cure we made could save you, then we can recreate it again, somehow, and save more."

Marc gets a response, saying that police officers can be in the area in a few days. He agrees

Dare puts a flash drive into the computer after their recorded data from the lab work was saved. "Hang on to this, Joey. If something ever happens to this computer, keep that thing handy."

He agrees. "Do you think we'll ever be able to perfect this? To be able to stop the apocalypse?"

"We have to try, Joey. I'd put my life on the line a dozen times over if it meant reaching that point."

Keith slept horribly, but he still slept

Matt and Sasha ate a small meal of jerky and then went to go sleep

Marg came back in and went to find a place to sleep

A couple of days go by and Dare and Joey are slowly working further, contacting as many of the remaining WOOTU as possible and trying to get a apocalypse rebellion started. They're having little success, as many are afraid to come out with the recent issues.

Keith was up by now, already healing quickly. He does a perimeter check, even though he wasn't at full strength yet. Matt and Sasha helped Cyrus make the perimeter wall. Marc planned out everything in his mind

As this is going on, Joey and Dare have taken a minor break for coffee. That had been up for almost three days straight, exhausted but working hard. They've been trying to stay indoors as much as possible to keep their identities covered.

Marc went outside to check on the progress of the cops, not knowing Keith was out doing a patrol. Marc radioed the cops while Keith was within earshot. "How much longer?" Marc asked "A few hours and we'll be on your position" A cop replied "You need to hurry" Marc said and shut his radio off. Marc turned to walk back in only to find Keith in his way. Marc went pale and stammered. "U-uh, Hey, Keith . . . h-how ya feelin'?" Marc asked, not sure how much Keith heard. Keith was dead silent, his frozen gaze fixed on Marc's eyes. A shiver of fear ran up Marc's spine and he turned and bolted. Keith didn't have the strength to chase him, so he turned and went inside to tell Dare and the others what had happened

When Keith comes in, both Dare and Joey are about half asleep from the lack of rest. Cyrus sees the look on Keith's face when he enters. "Keith, is there something wrong?" he asks.

"Marc betrayed us all, Cops will be here in a few hours" Keith said. Matt and Sasha were speechless

"Are they looking for Joey or for Dare?" Cyrus asks.
