Eight and Beyond!

JayJay went back inside, but didn't pay attention to the fact Claire might have seen him leave his hiddingplace

Claire saw a brief shadow pass but ignored it. She went back inside the house and returned to the bedroom for rest. Eevee was curled up on a pillow. Claire laid back in bed, mostly falling asleep.

JayJay made it to the couch and tried to sleep, but couldn't. He was jealous of Shade, but he didn't know why. It's not like he would ever want to fight Claire, yet he didn't want her fighting someone else. He was so confused why it bothered him. He had no explanation. And soon he was up pacing

Claire shifted in her sleep and finally dozed off completely.

JayJay just started doing push-ups until he passed out

The following morning soon came. Claire got up early and put on her gear. She had removed the bandages on her hands and put on her gloves instead. She placed all her Pokemon on her belt and passed her Eevee on to Nurse Joy to take care of.

When JayJAy awoke he took a scalding hot shower and dressed in a pair of black cargo pants, a dark camo short sleeved shirt, a black vest, and dark gray fingerless gloves. He clipped his Pokemon in his vest and popped every knuckle in his body, then went outside.

"If we could get a hold of the Kanto Radio lines we could send out a warning to Team Rocket. Then again, should we really do that?" Claire laughed a bit. Then again, some alert to the gym leaders to prepare themselves would be a bit of a smart idea.

"It's their job to be prepared, they'll be ready when we get there" JayJay said

"They don't know we're coming. Heck. We didn't even finish our gym battling."

"But if we send a notice that we're coming out, team Rocket will prepare for us" JayJay was unsure

"Good point," she said. "We have some ups and downs to this, I guess. We could call up the Champion and get him to summon the Elite together."

"Maybe" JayJay sighed. he knew they didn't need help, but he didn't know who to call . . . then it hit him! He knew exactly who to call. He got an evil grin and took out his PokeGear

Claire was confused. "Alright, that grin just scared me a bit."

Jayjay dialed up a number and called. he waited for a few moments, then left a message instructing who ever he was calling to meet in Saffron. He made sure not to say their name.

Claire gave him an odd look. "I don't want to know," she said. "Anyway, we've got to get our Pokemon ready to go. Do you remember our plan?"

"I do, but a refresher couldn't hurt" JayJay stated, then waited for Claire to reiterated the plan

"We're first going to Cerulean and splitting up there. You need to get to the Indigo League and get the Elite and Champion to follow you back. I'll retrieve Misty, who will most likely still be trying to fight against Team Rocket. From there, I expect that Team Rocket will flee the city seeing that the Elite, Champion, Misty and both of us will be there. If not we can send them flying like always.
After that, everyone's going to split up and get all the Gym Leaders from across the region together and head to Saffron. If we can reclaim Saffron, we can take on Giovanni. If we can take on Giovanni, we can reclaim Kanto in the name of the Indigo League once more. We can take willing recruits along the way, but they should be warned of the danger.
Once we get to Saffron, we can break into groups and take on individual parts of the city. One of us two will most likely run into Giovanni in the battle. I'll be searching for my family at the Rocket headquarters, so there's no telling which one of us will find him, if he doesn't find us, first."

JayJay nodded. He looked at Claire timidly for a moment, blushing a bit. He tried to shake it off before she noticed

Claire watched the sunset, knowing it was nearing time.

"Listen, if there's anything we need to say to one another then we need to do it now. For all we know, this could be our last battle in Kanto. There's no telling what's going to happen from here."

"You're my best friend, Claire. You're my only human friend. Please, promise that you'll come back to me?" JayJay said, rather meekly, he didn't know where his confidence went, but he was having a hard time telling Claire that he cared, even through she already knew

Claire nodded, promising to the best she could.

"I'm still angry with myself for deceiving you as Luna. It was all I could do to protect you from the danger of Team Rocket. When Shade started contacting me, I didn't want any interference stepping in the way of finding critical information. If I had not have kept it private, we may have already been ambushed by a grunt that wasn't him. I didn't foresee any of this or I would've taken Giovanni down previously. He thinks I'm on his side. He never saw me after I changed to Luna, which could lead to our advantage." Claire was unsure, however. She only hoped it would give them an edge.

JayJay hugged Claire tightly in a bear hug, then let her go quickly before he crushed her, then stepped back timidly. He was almost mad at himself for being so timid, but he couldn't help it. His fathers dragons showed up and greeted the two

Professor Oak and Nurse Joy joined the group, bidding farewell and best wishes.

"I can see now you two were destined for this. Success will come to those that put their best into the battle. The trainers of Kanto can come to your aid when you need it. When you no longer can fight in offense, switch over and seek the help of your fellow partners. They will be there for you." Professor Oak smiled.

"I brought these with me upon leaving Kanto. A grunt was trying to steal dozens of potions and such from the PokeMart but I was able to steal them back and hide them before capture. Take them. They will help you." Nurse Joy handed a sack over.

JayJay took the sack and mounted Dragonite, looking around for a sign his call went through
