Destiny of Light (2)

Kreig stopped when the smell overwhelmed him. He couldn't fight instinct and he darted off at speed to the mountains

Luna turned her head to the running Kreig. She said, "Jargos, should we pursue him?"

"It's up to you. I don't even know what he's after, but he can take care of himself very well"


Kreig was becoming furious

Layla trusted Jargos' statement. "Unless he calls for us, we should probably stay here. We're safer in the Darkwoods for now."

Luna shifted uneasily. "I can't help but feel worried."

"Luna should go, she can calm him down should something bad happen" Jargos said



Kreig was at the base of the mountain, vaulting his way up

"It will take her ages to get there, but I do have an idea," Layla stated. "I picked up a few tricks over the years."

Luna looked puzzled. "What are you thinking, Grandmother?"

Layla walked over to Luna. A ball of white light formed on her tail as she circled around Luna. The grass below Luna glowed brightly. She murmured a few words in Ancient Elven. Luna immediately disappeared into the soft earth below and teleported to a nearby location to Kreig. Layla looked over to Jargos. "I ask that you don't mention that I used this spell. My village would call this forbidden magic per my ancestry."

Jargos chuckled
"Who would understand me?"


Kreig turned quickly and saw Luna. Perplexed, he dashed to her side

Layla laughed. "Good point. Still, though, you'd be surprised at how the leadership has changed. For all I know, the new elders could be using a bit of forbidden magic themselves for translation."

Luna saw Kreig and joined him. "Kreig, what's going on? Who's out here?"

"Morgana. I could smell her mixed in with a horde of other scents. I figured she was trying to evade us with perfumes" Kreig told her

"If the Darkwoods is the safest place for everyone, then she probably wanted to attack the next thing..." Luna's eyes grew wide. "This is not good. Kreig, we need to continue on. I have a really bad feeling. Let Jargos and Layla stay in the Darkwoods. We need to make our way quickly."

Kreig nodded and then started up the mountain, not so fast as to lose Luna

Luna tried to keep an eye for Morgana. She was raging at the woman even attempting to attack her home. Though, she was worried that the village would have already been in distress by the time she got there.

Kreig could smell the village now

As Luna approached the clearing leading up to the gate of Zeiza, which, since Layla's time, had been replaced with a wooden gate, she saw large pieces of iron and wood laying on the ground.
No... This isn't happening..., she thought to herself.

Kreig howled out and came to the plateau of Zeiza

Luna ran to the gate to see what was happening. Fire could be seen everywhere. The bells were ringing as people were rushing to get to the underground shelters. Guards were fighting off shadows everywhere, though it was clear that they were not entirely prepared.
They were not ready to face the shadows... All the elders must have fled to the underground, she thought. She was angry and raging. Something within her spiked her magic as her cerulean markings appeared. Luna knew she was going to lose control of her magic. To find Morgana, she didn't care. It's all or nothing, here and now. She ran into the village.

Kreig went on an animalistic rampage, shredding the shadows and leaving nothing in his wake

Luna could see a bloodshed everywhere she turned. She was going to run to the Elders Hut to seek out any help that remained, but the small building had been demolished. She ran to the building to find remains. It wasn't the blood that scared her.

It was the body of the village's dead leader.

Her marks turned a vibrant red and her powers immediately were blazing with energy from her rage. Luna's attacks of anger turned into blind rage as she hunted down Morgana. She had lost control of her powers and sought out the one thing that was in her way.

Kreig used his crushing jaws to destroy the last shadow, but something was wrong. He began to feel dizzy and weak



Jargos' head snapped in the direction of the mountain, then he looked at Layla, his face telling of the destruction in the air

Luna was destroying as many shadows as possible, trying to find Morgana.

Layla looked to Jargos. "Do you think they're alright?" she asked.

"I'm not sure, Jargos answered



Kreig growled as he shifted down to his normal form, all of his strength leaving him. He passed out and Morgana arose from the side of the cliff, a stream of energy flowing into her from Kreig's body

"You..." Luna said darkly. She wasn't fully aware of what was happening. In a burst of speed, she made her way to Morgana. "You. Will. PAY!" she yelled.

Morgana laughed as she used Kreig's energy to shield herself. The energy formed into a shape eerily similar to Kreig

The shield only angered Luna more, and she was becoming slightly dizzy from her sudden power peak. It was increasing her magic. It was what Layla had told her to avoid, and she didn't listen. She had to get Kreig out of the arena if she was going to lower Morgana's power. A red aura appeared around Luna's body, increasing her ability to carry Kreig by magic. "This fight is between only us. You. Me. That's it, Black-Blood. Stop playing games. I know what you want. If you are as you say you are, you'll take me on."

"But, poor thing, this young mutt will make a fine puppet. Once his energy is drained, I'll control his body and force him to attack you!" Morgana laughed and used her magic to keep Kreig down
