The group proceeded to the forest. The lake extended as a small river to the heart of the forest, thus giving Earth and Water usages.
"I'm going easy on you, because if I go full power on you then I'm more likely to kill you. And we don't want that, alright?" Zelda said.
Maya nodded. Maya admitted the fact that Zelda was pretty far past her level, and she didn't want to leave the forest out cold.

| "Alright. I'm not expecting you to have many usages of your Elite powers yet. And, because you're new, using them isn't exactly a good idea until you know your starting limits. Just show me what you can do, and then we'll work on your limit."
Maya nodded, and formed shards from the soft earth below her. Shooting them at Zelda, she broke them in half with the water that formed in front of her. Maya threw several boulders, spears, and even created cracks in the ground. Zelda quickly dodged them all, and then put one idea to the test. She formed ice around Maya's body, tall enough that it was higher than her own head.
"Now, how would you get out of that?" Zelda asked.
Maya vanished into a hole that formed beneath her. Zelda was impressed.

| Zelda suddenly felt a shift of ground underneath her. A hole in front of her formed as Maya appeared. Next thing Zelda knew, she was at the same height of the ground.
"Get me out of this hole, Maya." Zelda gave an annoyed glance.
"Hey, you said you were testing me."

"Alright. Now, let me see how far your Elite powers are coming. Let me flow through you. Just think of what you want, and let yourself have it."
Maya began to think of a protection shield. A golden barrier formed around her.
"Okay, if you could form that, then I know how far your limit is. Great work. We'll start training tomorrow."

Maya saw gust of winds as figures flashed across the bright blue sky. Black swooshes of punches could be seen, but she couldn't make out who was who.

| Maya watched the match as a sudden barrier formed around Alex and Alan that consisted of high winds. She couldn't see anyone inside.
"Allow me to assist, young Elemental."
A shift in the ground below the barrier allowed some vision of the battle within to be seen.
"Who are you?" Maya asked.
"A friend. Not your enemy. Do not worry. We will speak again eventually."

| "Maya, what is it? You look almost in panic."
"I'm hearing something. Can we go into another room so no one can hear the conversation?"
"Sure."
Zelda quietly opens her closet door, and then opens the secret door within it. Locking her closet door and hidden door behind them, she asked within the sealed room, "Now, what is it?"
They began to speak in a quiet tone.
"Something is speaking to me. Some strange voice."
"Come closer. I have an idea."
Zelda places her hand on her daughter's forehead. She could sense an energy within her. Suddenly, Maya was overtaken by the spirit. Her eyes turned an Earth Green and spoke in a strong, feminine voice.
"So, we finally meet, Guardian. I have awaited many years."
"I'm surprised she's this far. Then again, she's my own child and I advanced quickly myself. "
"I'd like to ask if you'd keep this hidden from the others for now. Until they are ready to know. Alex is not ready to know about the Elemental Spirits yet."
"Agreed. May I ask your spiritual name?"
"Terrene. As you know, I'm the core to your Maya's Earth talents."
"Yes. And what form do you possess in these realms?"
"You and her will know later. I wish to keep it all a secret for now. This conversation can only be heard between you and I. Maya will not have much memory of this until her powers advance. Not even your partners will hear it."
"Of course."
The spirit faded from Maya, her eye-color returning to their natural brown. She immediately fainted. Zelda caught her in her arms.

| Zelda began to keep a check on Maya, since her energy levels were rising and falling. Of course, it was a result of the opening of the inner spirit. Normally, it did not happen if the spirit did not fully open at a young age. However, this was not the case. Zelda's marking glowed slightly as she began to focus Maya's power levels to neutral and not unbalanced. | |
